100% agree with this.. the best laugh was the attempted brushing under the carpet of haye's obvious injury post fight.jamamb wrote: ↑20 Apr 2018, 06:36 even looking awful and wild haye was up 4-1, it was the leg that did it, not the shoulder or an inability to throw straights
hayes body may go again, but please not this revionist crap like bellew had been bossing it all along. ffs bellew had almost totally gone into a survival shell by the time hayes achilles blew, the fight had been turning in hayes favour more

Haye, I personally believe, (based on his ring walk as well as other things) knew he was injured anyway.
He walked to the fight, and after the pullouts against fury and also 'toegate' thinking, yes I'm a bit injured but I HAVE to see this through otherwise the public will dislike me even more...and to be honest I reckon he also thought...even with this...I can still beat Bellow.
I genuinely think he though despite his injury he may land on bellow and that would be that...the problem being that scenario didn't happen, his leg went and he couldn't do anything about it...Bellow went on to beat him and that was that.
If he comes in fit and healthy which I hope he does....he beats bellow easily in my opinion.
That said...he is obviously prone to injury so if its a previous or new injury it will be that that beats him...not bellow if you know what I mean.
That's my honest thoughts on it, a fully fit Haye beats Bellow 99 times out of a 100 for me.
We will see....

I used to think like this, and I agree that Haye was injured going into the fight, but I'm more coming around to the fact that Bellew has the style to cause Haye problems. He fought on the retreat and that nullified Hayes power and made him miss. It'll be an interesting fight and I wouldn't be shocked if Bellew beat him again.Crazyboy wrote: ↑20 Apr 2018, 09:03 Agree completely

Even though Bellew was on the retreat.. until Haye's leg went, Haye was ahead. Bellew probably only took round 1 at that point..Controversial wrote: ↑20 Apr 2018, 13:34I used to think like this, and I agree that Haye was injured going into the fight, but I'm more coming around to the fact that Bellew has the style to cause Haye problems. My money is still on Haye, I'm just not thinking it will be a quick blast out like I was expecting the first fight to be. I couldn't envisage a Bellew win before but if he drags the fight out I have little confidence in Haye's body holding up and he could repeat the win. I'm looking forward to it.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑20 Apr 2018, 13:51Even though Bellew was on the retreat.. until Haye's leg went, Haye was ahead. At the end of the day, Bellew would've rather fought Haye than enter the Cruiser Super Series. Which he had no chance of winning and he knew it.
But to hear him mouth off about how much the World Title meant to him, is total BS.
Pound notes talk.
The blokes getting sparked horribly second time around. Then will wanna fight the winner of the super series. Prat!

Re: Tony Bellew vs. David Haye II - 5 May 2018
Why is all Hayes training hooks and looping punches leading up to the first fight. He seems to throw the straight right without any power behind it. Pretty sure haye always had a good straight right. Remember him putting Ruiz down with it hard.
All of a sudden he stops throwing it. And says he just fought stupid. I m not sure it was a case of fighting stupid more a case of its about the only way he can effectively fight nowadays...unfortunately anyone near the top level will see the punches that come from too far out coming. I m expecting haye to fight the same way after about two rounds of not really getting anywhere.
Either it was the leg that caused him to fight that way from the start...or it was the right shoulder. Even if it was the leg...he's still having problems with that shoulder is my guess. At that level with injured legs/shoulders etc...your up against it regardless of how many levels above the other guy in his prime.
I don't buy into belles being a Nostradamus...that knows everything that will happen and how he's studies have his whole career. I think hes knew about his injuries prior to signing for the first fight...and knows enough that at that level you cant fight effectively with pretty major injuries.

I agree a lot of people are ignoring the fact Haye was way ahead before his ankle went. I don’t think I’ve heard Bellew acknowledge the fact he was behind at all.
Re: Tony Bellew vs. David Haye II - 5 May 2018
Tbf it was bellews game plan to come on late. Think he shouted across to haye after the end of the fifth round..."I ve got you now". Hayes ligaments went the next round so who knows what would have happened. I think bellew showed enough in them first five rounds tho to make a case it probably was his plan to come on strong. Stands to figure hate was starting to look a little bit spent...threw all the bombs and caught him with nothing of note. Had to revert to just the jab...cause that's pretty much all he could get off. We,ll never know but I reckon tony would have came on strong down the straight. They always said that was the plan.

Bellew still couldn’t conclusively beat a one legged, past it David Haye. I rewatched it the other day, the injury made all the difference.
Two chancers who aren’t relevant on the world scene and they both know it only too well. They’ll look to con more money out the public with a third and final decider fight of Haye wins.

Bellew pushed for the fight more than Khan pushed to fight Mayweather..
Re: Tony Bellew vs. David Haye II - 5 May 2018
nonsense, go watch the fight, it wasnt haye spent and bellew having got to him at all, bellew was going increasingly survival, was hardly throwing any more, and was the one breathing heavier. haye was finding more shots and his range better with the jab and was opening up the gap b0even morebbjc wrote: ↑20 Apr 2018, 16:49 Tbf it was bellews game plan to come on late. then hayes achilles blows and suddenly its bellews fight, although even then he struggled to get a one legged man out of there
this fight is defo up there when it comes to revionist narratives

Haye was in on it for the beginning, fair play to them both. They cooked it up and made retirement money off it and circumstance means they’ll do it again.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑20 Apr 2018, 17:09Bellew was the chancer.lillywhite14 wrote: ↑20 Apr 2018, 17:07 Bellew still couldn’t conclusively beat a one legged, past it David Haye. Not for me though. This isn’t anything like elite level heavyweight boxing. Bellew isn’t troubling the top 30 heavyweights.
Re: Tony Bellew vs. David Haye II - 5 May 2018
It will be another KO win for Bellew. I think Tony is tactically smarter and has a better defense than Haye. Plus, we can consider Haye a "part time" boxer.
Re: Tony Bellew vs. David Haye II - 5 May 2018
I’m actually a bit fearful for Bellew. Everyone knows he’s an annoying know all p*ick. But this will end horrendously for him.
Re: Tony Bellew vs. David Haye II - 5 May 2018
I can't stand him but Bellew wins at a canter if it's a 'real' fight.
Otherwise, Haye wins cos of narrative for a third fight £££.

Re: Tony Bellew vs. David Haye II - 5 May 2018
There’s an inevitability that this will end up being a trilogy, neither man can make as much money fighting anyone else. I’m sure Bellew knows deep down that he couldn’t live with any of the top heavyweights and Haye must realise that even he can’t talk himself into a big title fight anymore...
Re: Tony Bellew vs. David Haye II - 5 May 2018
Imagine Bellew winning. Imagine Joshua-Bellew being next. Imagine Bellew knocking out Joshua. People's champion.
Re: Tony Bellew vs. David Haye II - 5 May 2018
If Haye wins the Fury fight could happen. Haye still does big money and people won't be put off by a past injury. The business for the crap comeback fights show that.chinarich wrote: ↑23 Apr 2018, 05:40 There’s an inevitability that this will end up being a trilogy, neither man can make as much money fighting anyone else. Christ, if Haye wins and then wins another fight against largely anyone Haye v Joshua happens at Wembley. Regardless what you think Haye does very decent business.
Re: Tony Bellew vs. David Haye II - 5 May 2018
Oh I know that Haye can sell tickets, I just don’t think he’s going to be able to position himself for a fight that will earn him more than a decider (assuming Haye wins this one) with Bellew...dirk2686 wrote: ↑23 Apr 2018, 06:03If Haye wins the Fury fight could happen.
