I've made 1000 Posts and some Collazo fights

1000 POSTS........I've enjoyed posting here despite the odd fall out, I think this forum has some of the internets most intelligent boxing fans (not saying allot though lads), so to commemerate this occasion I've dug around to find some Collazo fights for anyone fancying a punt on him.

So what do you think of him? Allot better than Boxingchat led me to believe. Here are my observations:

Fastest Hands Rickys fought - don't think Rickys had an opponent whos faster than him, good combinations too

High workrate and good stamina - again I don't think Ricky has fought anyone who works as hard.

He reminds of Morales and Corrales in that he could utilise a reach advantage but goes toe-toe and fights on the inside and comes off okay

I think Rickys going to get cut in this 1 with the amount of punches Collazo throws.

The Rivera fight was a close call, Rickys a level above Rivera so Collazo would need to do allot better.

You have to make Ricky the favourate but Collazo looks like a livebody and if RH is unprepared could pull off the upset. Its definately a bad business move - a dangerous opponent who'll make RH look bad unless he takes him out quickish, no belt, no name recognition.

People are quick to dismiss him because he has a big mouth. However, if he could carry more power, he would be a serious threat to Floyd. However, seeing Floyd just dismantled a faster, harder hitting fight in Judah, as well a southpaw, I don't see him giving Mayweather as difficult a time early.

However, it'll be interesting to see Hatton cope wiht the odd angles and quick hands. I think Hatton will catch him late but he will struggle early.

I think with all the problems that have been going on that Ricky is walking on thin ice here... stepping up in weight can always be dodgey, especially for a fighter like Hatton who has for much of his career faced Lightweights basically... he looked very poor against Maussa and if he turns up in that form again I wouldn't be surprised to see an 'upset'...

Still Hatton controlled the maussa fight, i dont think he lost a round

Wow, I've now re-evaluated my opinion of this fight after watching his fight with Gonzalez. Gonzalez was like a less effective version of Hatton, throwing lots of body punches and marching forward and Collazo completely killed him in most rounds. Collazo is a fast, sharp and accurate puncher who is very comfortable on the back foot. I reckon Ricky gets hit a lot more than he is expecting in this fight and an upset could well be on the cards.
