I recently watched a really good interview with boxing trainer Adam Booth on the use of PEDs in boxing.
He raised an interesting point using David Price as an example. Price lost to Thompson and Teper who both subsequently (post fight) tested positive for performance enhancing drugs. However, Price record still shows a L against both guys, even though they tested positive.
Booth also claims often a winner would be paid a winners bonus (or winners purse share be higher or whatever) yet that’s never revoked and sent to the loser who’s been cheated. , neither has anyone ever looked at a “potential loss of earnings” for losing against a cheat. For example had Price won the rematch with Thompson he would’ve been in line for a much bigger money fight than he had after losing.

Booth is correct in my view. Fights should be retrospectively determined as no contests at the very least.

Having to hand over your purse is a great idea but sadly we won't see this introduced any time soon I don't think

The Canelo case could still be a watershed moment for boxing if the sanctioning bodies would stop their inept (corrupt?) ways. Don't they get enough dollar out of exploiting the health and bodies of those brave or desperate enough to enter the ring?

Adam Booth is 100% right and credit to him for examining all the implications and consequences of what is no less than blatant cheating. It's only a matter of time before someone in David Price's position will take legal action. And they will win.

It's also a huge credit to Pauli Malignaggi, Eddie Hearn, Amir Khan, Tony Bellew and others for having already spoken up.

I can remember commenting on this a couple of years back, but it fell on deaf ears because most thought Price would have lost anyway.
Not only should the "L" be erased, the W should be added to Prices record and the L added to the other guys record. Its even a crock of shot when they change it to a no contest.
The time isn't far away when guys like Price win lawsuits against PED cheaters as well, and rightfully so.
