I mean if you consider the last time when Canelo has fought (1st Golovkin fight) there is a period of 1 year layoff. How Canelo keeps that top shape ?

He had been in heavy training for the scheduled May 5 rematch so he's not woefully out of condition.
The knee surgery will be something of a setback physically, but Canelo is still young so it won't be an arduous task to get back into peak condition by the time fight day arrives in 5 months.
I'm assuming Canelo will definitely fight in September, be it Golovkin (probably) or Spike O'Sullivan (most likely afterwards).

You know I wonder if he'll be the same fighter after all these things. Only Canelo and his team know if he was clean or not.SenorPipino wrote: ↑21 Apr 2018, 06:31 He had been in heavy training for the scheduled May 5 rematch so he's not woefully out of condition.

Worth noting that for the duration of his suspension, Canelo won't be getting PED tested.apollo creed wrote: ↑21 Apr 2018, 05:33 I mean if you consider the last time when Canelo has fought (1st Golovkin fight) there is a period of 1 year layoff. How Canelo keeps that top shape ?
A cynic may read into that and make assumptions about how he might try to stay in top shape...

He will stop eating those "steaks" 7-10 days before the fight is announced and testing starts.

Unbelievable! He's opting out of the very same VADA program that caught him!
"I am not trying to protect Canelo; believe me, this was an opportunity for the WBC and myself to take on the last year of abuse that we received from his side. It is well documented that there have been problems from the fighter against the WBC for some reasons. But we have to be completely neutral. We have to be fair, and justice has to prevail." José Sulaiman
Yep he'll be cycling even harder this time as fight night approaches.

He relies on his big profile. Sadly I think people will still want to buy his fights without any serious doping tests involved. People want to see a monster KTFO other fighters. They won't give a SShit about how clean is a fighter.Thomastearns wrote: ↑22 Apr 2018, 12:27Unbelievable! He's opting out of the very same VADA program that caught him!

Getting a cyst removed surgically is trivial. It won't disrupt his training significantly and I'm speaking from personal experience.SenorPipino wrote: ↑21 Apr 2018, 06:31 He had been in heavy training for the scheduled May 5 rematch so he's not woefully out of condition.
