dogboe has impressed me a lot
Re: Jesse Magdaleno vs Isaac Dogboe
Are you kidding me? Winning close but clear against a super dangerous, former p4p SBW. Donaire's only loss at that weight was against Rigondeaux. This forum is full of casuals.dagilechia wrote: ↑09 Jan 2018, 09:33 i'd rather favour Dogboe

Re: Jesse Magdaleno vs Isaac Dogboe
donaire was given hell by the guy dogboe just easily stopped in 5.
Re: Jesse Magdaleno vs Isaac Dogboe
Donaire has always ran hot-and-cold. He went from struggling against Vic Darchinyan to putting on a solid performance against Vetyeka. Story of his career, but he did show up and fought hard against Magdaleno. As I said, Donaire's only loss at SBW was Rigondeaux.

pre and post-Rigondeaux and especially Walters loss Donaire is a totally different fighter. i guess Frampton stops him rather quicklyMexi-Box wrote: ↑09 Jan 2018, 11:41Are you kidding me? Have you ever seen Frampton or Donaire fight? When was the last time Frampton stopped anyone?dagilechia wrote: ↑10 Jan 2018, 06:05pre and post-Rigondeaux and especially Walters loss Donaire is a totally different fighter. i guess Frampton stops him rather quicklyMexi-Box wrote: ↑09 Jan 2018, 11:41Are you kidding me? Re: Jesse Magdaleno vs Isaac Dogboe
Frampton fought high level and/or durable opponents recently, i believe Donaire is way past his best and gets stopped in this fight, maybe i exaggerated with quick stoppage, but i can see him being stopped in late rounds, and if i had to bet, thats my choiceMexi-Box wrote: ↑10 Jan 2018, 11:24Have you ever seen Frampton or Donaire fight? I've got it pretty close to even, which is one reason we NEED to see this compelling matchup!!

Re: Jesse Magdaleno vs Isaac Dogboe
Dogboe could surprise but I think Magdaleno is a slight favorite, based on stiffer opposition in the past. Dogboe impressed me the one time I saw him on TV.
Re: Jesse Magdaleno vs Isaac Dogboe
That's an interesting question for the following reason. Frampton didn't stop any of his last 5 opponents, but no one has stopped any of Frampton's past 5 opponents. They are all very good survivors. Not to mention that 3 of those 5 were elite fighters. Raul Hirales is another fighter who went the distance with Frampton, but who no one else has stopped either (including Magdaleno).
But, at any rate, I wouldn't pick Frampton to stop Donaire early. Perhaps late.

Re: Jesse Magdaleno vs Isaac Dogboe
Magdaleno: I’m going to put on a spectacular show
“I’m mentally ready. I’m physically ready,” Magdaleno said. “Being here with {trainer} Manny Robles keeps me ready. The sparring has been great, but I get impatient sometimes and just want to get in the ring for real. I have to stay calm and wait until the fight comes.”
Said Robles: “Dogboe is a real tough opponent. Jessie definitely has to be ready for this fight, and it should be a fan-friendly fight.”
Magdaleno (25-0, 18 KOs) won the world title with a unanimous decision over four-weight world champion Nonito Donaire on Nov. 5, 2016. He has defended his belt once, a second-round stoppage over Adeilson Dos Santos last April. When Magdaleno steps into the ring against Dogboe, it will have been 371 days since the Dos Santos fight.
“It’s been a long training camp, and I’ve been training with some excellent fighters,” Magdaleno said. “I was with {WBO featherweight champion} Oscar Valdez in Mexico, and now, it’s the home stretch. We’re more than ready to get back in the ring.”
The pre-fight drama escalated last month when Dogboe’s father/trainer, Paul Dogboe, told Ghana’s Pulse website: “We hope Magdaleno will not run like a chicken. We hope he makes the weight and comes in with no excuses because we are ready for him. We are ready to eat him like a chicken. We are focused, and our only mission is to devour him, eat the crazy chicken, throw him over the wall of Mexico and present the title to Donald Trump. Magdaleno will run when he sees Isaac.”
Paul Dogboe has since apologized, and Magdaleno is intent on doing his talking inside the ring.
“It’s about experience, staying focused, and doing our job,” Magdaleno said. “Manny keeps me focused on the fight, and that is my main concern.”
Magdaleno-Dogboe will be televised LIVE on ESPN and stream in English and Spanish on the ESPN App at 7 p.m. ET. Undercard bouts will stream live on ESPN+, available on the ESPN App, beginning at 4 p.m. ET. ESPN Deportes will air the fight at 10 p.m. ET.

Re: Jesse Magdaleno vs Isaac Dogboe
This should be the best fight of a busy weekend. Two undefeated rising stars. I'm more excited about this one that I am about the HBO doubleheader or the fights on FOX.
I've got Magdaleno as a slight favorite but Dogboe is a live underdog who could win this fight. He's a former Olympian and has a couple of nice stoppage wins as a pro over tough Argentine veterans > former world title challenger Javier Chacon and former Argentine champ Julian Aristule.
