ricardo lopez the greatest p4p of all time? WTF are you smoking buddy? look... i dont even know how to put it to you, im so pissed at such a laughable statment i cant get my thoughts straight. rest assured ricardo f'in lopez dosnt even crack the top 10 p4p all time list let alone deserve to be placed as number 1, not on anyones list, even yours. shame on you

well, I am sorry Ray, but if he thinks that ricardo lopez is the greatest of all the time, let it be, I mean, I believe that Tommy Morrison is the best of all the times, because I might be his fan number 1, and I am sure tommy even doubt of him being number one.
this is a forum, so let's all discuss, but not laugh at other people.
Even though I won't care if people still laughing at me by thinking that tommy is the best.
but If I have to make a quick list of other boxers that I really admire I will have to go with....

i joined this board a while after this thread was posted. Holyfield headbutt, that is a very good p4p list. much better than the recent ring all time p4p IMO. the way they had roberto duran at # 5 was ridiulous(although duran was a great fighter). the way ring mag had lopez ranked # 67 was ridiculous and they had trinidad ranked way too high at 50. i love trinidad but that's ludicrous. i think lopez should be around 5 or 6 but that's just my opinion. other than that, it's a perfect list.

ps. since u posted this in january, i think that roy jones just recently made this list barely like at # 10 since he was brilliant at middleweight, supermiddleweight, lt. heavy and now he holds a belt in the heavyweight division in a one-sided, easy win over a not-so-great, but top 5 heavyweight. he's been a consistently great fighter over the years who's never really been in trouble inside the ring.

Please explain to me how Ricardo Lopez deserves the top spot, I am not laughing at you (though I am tempted) but explain how he achieved more than Armstrong and Robinson, and that's just for starters. Lopez did not face anything like the level of competition of most of the guys on that list.

I have him at #1 for a number of reasons:

1)He was the best fighter I've ever seen.

2)He never lost in his entire career (which set the record for longest unbeaten streak in boxing history, 16 and a half years).

3)He made an astounding number of title defenses (21!) at one weight alone, and dominated the division as thoroughly as anyone has ever dominated a weight class.

4)He totally cleaned out Strawweight. He beat every worthy champ and contender (and ended up winning the WBC, WBO, and WBA titles during his 9-year championship reign).

5)He moved up and won a title at another weight and had a handful of defenses. He went unbeaten even when he was an ancient 34-year old.

You can criticize his opposition all day long, but even if he beat challengers that were 100-0 it wouldn't make a difference because nobody has ever heard of any Strawweights. The opponents he's accused of "ducking" were Chiquita Gonzalez and Michael Carbajal, who were both a division higher than he, and Don King wouldn't allow a match to be made with either man
