Re: Team Wilder makes $50 million offer to Joshua
Why? No way this fight makes $150m. If it makes 100 I will be very surprised. Cut from total revenue about 40% to TV, promoters etc. and fighter's total combined purse will be $60m. If AJ's guaranteed money is $50m, then Wilder will get only $10m, which is less than Hearn's offer.darkstar81 wrote: ↑25 Apr 2018, 18:33 Hahaha Team Wilder has called Joshua's bluff![]()

Sorry dood but the guarantee comes from the projected net and AFTER ppv distributors take their cuts.Boxing Writer wrote: ↑25 Apr 2018, 18:38Why? No way this fight makes $150m. I actually think AJ wins anyway but there's a big risk of getting knocked out and that will hurt his brand with the people buying PPVs and stadium tickets in the UK

Re: Team Wilder makes $50 million offer to Joshua
Has Wilder headlined PPV with either HBO or Showtime? if not why would one side offer $50m, when their fighter has not been tested on PPV in the US market.
Re: Team Wilder makes $50 million offer to Joshua
This event is easy to promote and to hype. . . . Las Vegas and the CBS/Showtime machine will kick into high gear. British fans and Fast Eddie can take notes how it's done.

Anthony Joshua will accept the $50m offer if the terms match the hype, but let's wait for Eddie and AJ to read the small print and express their thoughts before formulating opinions.darkstar81 wrote: ↑25 Apr 2018, 18:33 Hahaha Team Wilder has called Joshua's bluff![]()

It's currently premature to jump to all sorts of ignorant uneducated and intellectually subnormal assumptions without possessing all of the facts and having obtained both sides of the proverbial story.

Re: Team Wilder makes $50 million offer to Joshua
Eddie says he is meeting in person with Haymon Friday and AJ has been made aware of the offer. Both sides seems happy. A final deal may be negotiated relatively soon.
Re: Team Wilder makes $50 million offer to Joshua
AJ wanted $50 million guaranteed and he got it. I don't think there is a rematch clause, so maybe that would be a complaint from their camp? Either way, the ball is in their court. There's not much excuse not to make this fight happen. You got exactly what you asked for.

I think having their fight in the US will be a deal-breaker for Joshua.

Nice bluff from team Wilder. There is no way the fight in the US generates enough.

I thought that too. Where is the money coming from?boxing_rocks wrote: ↑25 Apr 2018, 21:20 Nice bluff from team Wilder. There is no way the fight in the US generates enough.
Sure it's PPV worthy. It's the only HW fight that is, outside the UK.
If Eddie says it's a £40 million fight under his guidance, how does Wilders team think they can make it bigger? They don't have experience at that level.
I'd want it in escrow 2 months out if I was Eddie.

Re: Team Wilder makes $50 million offer to Joshua
AL HAYMON got MAYWEATHER 250 million usd( 60%) & PACQUIAO 167 million usd(40%)---according to FORBES. HAYMON will b doing this fight. i think AJ will get at least $50 million.
Re: Team Wilder makes $50 million offer to Joshua
lol if this is a legit offer and its wilder getting whatever else there is to pay after all the fight expenses, i bet you hed be making less then 12.5m
from ajs perspective i would want some assurance that this money exists and that hed really get it and that the fight and deal wouldnt suddenly come apart. if they can get security about actually getting 50m then take the fight.
for the record, no aj fight has ever had total money split above 40m, and no wilder fight above 2.7m (2.7, not 27!) , so aj alone getting 50m seems to me like he would actually be massively overpayed and i would want to assure that hed really be getting it.

Re: Team Wilder makes $50 million offer to Joshua
You only have 24 hours to accept or the offers off the table makes it look very suspect
Re: Team Wilder makes $50 million offer to Joshua
To be fair to Eddie he hasnt been a promoter who’s done that. AJ has been moved on far quicker than he would’ve been by someone just there to milk a cash cow. World title in his 16th fight and a defence every 4 months after.
Brook could’ve fought any number of people to keep his 0 and makes Hearn money , instead he went in with GGG and Spence jnr
Tony Bellew dropping his cruiserweight wbc title to fight Haye in a contest not many gave him a chance - 12 out of 134 picked bellew to win on a boxrec poll
We had Warren milk fighters in the U.K. im not sure Eddie is doing the same
