In terms of credible sources. The only one's on Twitter in this situation are: Sky Sports Boxing, Eddie, AJ or Adam Smith.

Is "realest" a word?
Re: Anthony Joshua (WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO) vs. Deontay Wilder (WBC)
lol if this is a legit offer and its wilder getting whatever else there is to pay after all the fight expenses, i bet you hed be making less then 12.5m
from ajs perspective i would want some assurance that this money exists and that hed really get it and that the fight and deal wouldnt suddenly come apart. if they can get security about actually getting 50m then take the fight.
for the record, no aj fight has ever had total money split above 40m, and no wilder fight above 2.7m, so aj alone getting 50m seems to me like he would actually be massively overpayed and i would want to assure that hed really be getting it.

AJ has just 24 hours to sign or the offer is off the table .
Sounds a bit suspect to me

Sounds like a public response to the Eddie 12.5m offer.
The deal is 50m to AJ guaranteed, and more if the fight generates over 100m, has no rematch clause(something wilder was adamant on) and takes place at Wilders choice of venue(so it will be in the legacy arena in Alabama).
Not sure Eddie will sign that deal.

Not sure how the sums add up for this one. Wilder does far less business than Joshua and Joshua fights, even sold out PPV record breakers at Wembley, would struggle with these numbers. Not as though Wilder is being backed by ludicrous money either.

Sold out ppv record breakers in Britain. If US ppv get involved, then it’s a whole new league. I doubt AJ will ever be that big over there to crack that, though.
Re: Anthony Joshua (WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO) vs. Deontay Wilder (WBC)
True but if Joshua is doing over a million PPV buys in Britain how many would this fight expect to do in America? Wilder isn't doing much business wise and Joshua isn't well known by any stretch. British fighters doing decent figures in America have been fighting names which do well in America themselves.mickey1975 wrote: ↑26 Apr 2018, 01:28Sold out ppv record breakers in Britain. It's a ludicrous offer on paper so you have to question the financial sense behind it. It's more akin to some mad oil-rich sheikh buying the fight because he can than any sound investment.

Joshua will possibly crack the US market if he goes over and knocks Wilder over the top rope in his own backyard
Take the £50m, if it’s real, go over and spark him.

Re: Anthony Joshua (WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO) vs. Deontay Wilder (WBC)
Don't really rate either man but AJ beats Wilder by KO
Re: Anthony Joshua (WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO) vs. Deontay Wilder (WBC)
its delusion to think right now the fight makes enough for aj to get 50m and wilder get at least 12.5m without someone losing millions.
if the 50m is a legit offer then either someone is badly mistaken about how much the fight will make, or wilders side has a very wealthy backer whose willing to take a loss on the event, but maybe has confidence in wilder winning and then as a result making much more for future fights

As soon as wilder made that offer I knew posters on here would turn into qualified accountants and tell us he is making a sham offer

not as predictable as your immediate spins about bluffs and duckingTheLeprechaun wrote: ↑26 Apr 2018, 06:54 As soon as wilder made that offer I knew posters on here would turn into qualified accountants and tell us he is making a sham offer![]()
btw its pretty simple to understand the financial questions ppl have about the deal. look at the actual numbers for there fights, where would that type of money come from if not being a massive overpayment? the biggest total split either had was 40m or so split between wlad vs aj, and thats like 10m less then being offered to aj alone. wilders biggest fight was 2.5 between him and ortiz. wlad and aj have both generated much more for there fights then wilder has, yet combined they didnt even earn 50m.
if its real, good for aj, he should take it. doubtful thered even be 50m total for the fighters just based on whats generated
Re: Anthony Joshua (WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO) vs. Deontay Wilder (WBC)
Wouldn't the demand and value of a rematch be determined largely by what happened in the first fight though, and how close it was etc. Surely a one or two round blowout either way would devalue a rematch pretty much in its entirety? How can they predict the value of second fight before the first one has happened?
Re: Anthony Joshua (WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO) vs. Deontay Wilder (WBC)
also seemingly verylittle detail given in the email (eg mystery venue) and only given 24 hours to accept. why do that and rush it if its legit and not just a pr move? i in mean of course ppl are going to question that, unless they just want to put all the blame on ajs side

Not having a rematch clause doesn't mean there won't be a rematch.revporl wrote: ↑26 Apr 2018, 07:24 Wouldn't the demand and value of a rematch be determined largely by what happened in the first fight though, and how close it was etc. Surely a one or two round blowout either way would devalue a rematch pretty much in its entirety? It doesn’t take a qualified accountant to see that the numbers don’t add up, a child could see it.TheLeprechaun wrote: ↑26 Apr 2018, 06:54 As soon as wilder made that offer I knew posters on here would turn into qualified accountants and tell us he is making a sham offer![]()

Do you have access to Haymon, CBS, Showtime, Vegas Casinos, sponsors etc balance statements? I'm pretty sure they are all capable of putting up the money. Haymon by himself could probably put up the 50 million guarantee. I also would like access to the crystal ball that people have telling them exactly how much the fight will make.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑26 Apr 2018, 11:41It doesn’t take a qualified accountant to see that the numbers don’t add up, a child could see it.TheLeprechaun wrote: ↑26 Apr 2018, 06:54 As soon as wilder made that offer I knew posters on here would turn into qualified accountants and tell us he is making a sham offer![]()
