Sulecki impressed me. Probably some people thought he is just another euro level fighter but he proved he can hang with the top mw dogs for sure. As for Jacobs I think it's time to cash out. He won a close fight. From this fight Sulecki's stocks are going up.

Re: As I thought Maciej Sulecki was a very game and skilful opponent ; Jacobs had his hands full
i had 114-113 Sulecki. 114-113 Jacobs would be fine too, but i think Sulecki was overall better in this fight. i prefer Sulecki to stay at MW but if hes back to LMW i would like to see him vs Hurd. at MW i would like to see him vs Murata or Canelo (impossible though)
Re: As I thought Maciej Sulecki was a very game and skilful opponent ; Jacobs had his hands full
Against Jacobs Sulecki indeed proved, that he was a real deal. If he remains at least in that shape, he can get his title shot after a couple of fights.
Re: As I thought Maciej Sulecki was a very game and skilful opponent ; Jacobs had his hands full
sulecki surprised me too, seeing him hurt and roughed up by culcay i wouldve expected jacobs to stop him, but he seemed stronger at mw
i didnt have him winning but i thought he won 4 or 5 rounds. had he won the last round it only wouldve been an md

I think Jacobs can't fight as #1 well. He is good at fighting on a back foot and countering, but when he decides or an opponent forces him to fight on a front foot, it doesn't work well against decent opponents.
Re: As I thought Maciej Sulecki was a very game and skilful opponent ; Jacobs had his hands full
and maybe dannys a little overrated from his showing vs a maybe overrated ggg?
some ppl had danny winning 8-9 rounds in that, maybe even more then they gave him vs sulecki

yeah i said once that most of fans in the USA thought that Sulecki is just an unknown euro bum, while in Poland everyone knew Suleckis going for nothing but win. Sulecki did a great job but it was also a great job of his trainer Andrzej Gmitruk, his words, advices in the corner were impressive and the gameplan too. Masternak and Sulecki are back to train with him, and they showed up best in their careers vs Kalenga and Jacobs respectively. i expect Sulecki to improve moreapollo creed wrote: ↑29 Apr 2018, 14:12 Sulecki impressed me. Three straight fights have seen the Miracle Man go the 12 round distance.
Where's the vaunted power?
And last night was against a super welter. Jacobs looked slow, out of position and hittable.
Is he overrated or is Jacobs slipping?
He's only 31, so I think it's more likely that he's overrated based strictly on his quick blowout of Quillin 2 1/2 years ago (and Quillin has barely surfaced since) and going 12 with Golovkin.
Judging by last night's performance, Jacobs would be a decided underdog to Charlo, even though Charlo is truly untested at middleweight.
Probably Hearn will do his best, however, to keep Jacobs a safe distance from Charlo.

Jacobs just called out Charlo. Who the hell has Charlo fought to be so flaunted? Guy's best win at MW is still a cripple. Centeno is horrible.SenorPipino wrote: ↑29 Apr 2018, 14:56 Three straight fights have seen the Miracle Man go the 12 round distance.

yeah I think the mw division suits him better. He's a big guy and cutting weight to make 154 ain't helping him. Sulecki vs Murata would be a good fight.dagilechia wrote: ↑29 Apr 2018, 14:28 i had 114-113 Sulecki. 114-113 Jacobs would be fine too, but i think Sulecki was overall better in this fight. i prefer Sulecki to stay at MW but if hes back to LMW i would like to see him vs Hurd. at MW i would like to see him vs Murata or Canelo (impossible though)

Indeed. I think Jacobs wanted to score a T/K.O win since against Arias he went 12 rds but probably he was not expected at such a very game euro opponent.boxing_rocks wrote: ↑29 Apr 2018, 14:30 I think Jacobs can't fight as #1 well. I think that fight against Golovkin took a little from Jacobs. If I were Jermall I'd push for a fight against Jacobs atm. This is the best time for Jermall to step up.SenorPipino wrote: ↑29 Apr 2018, 14:56 Three straight fights have seen the Miracle Man go the 12 round distance.

He's still living off his win over J-Roc. He's been matched soft since hitting MW. He hasn't fought Derevyanchenko, Murata, Saunders, or Jacobs to even consider himself a top guy. He was a top guy at the weak as hell LMW division, but the MW division is currently much, much stronger.apollo creed wrote: ↑29 Apr 2018, 15:46If Jermall truly wants to prove himself at mw he should go for Jacobs pronto.Mexi-Box wrote: ↑29 Apr 2018, 15:17Jacobs just called out Charlo. Trout was Mall's best win and he didn't look impressive. I agree that he was matched soft.Mexi-Box wrote: ↑29 Apr 2018, 15:53He's still living off his win over J-Roc. In your mind that's the same thing as boldly signing a contract, isn't it?
Jacobs has been calling out Charlo for a long time. He felt obliged to do so post-fight last night of else he comes across looking like a wuss.
You know damn well that Hearn, after seeing his man's uninspiring performance against Sulecki, has no interest in putting him in with Charlo, especially for chump change.
And yes, beating Centeno doesn't qualify Charlo for the HOF.
But he took out a C+/B- fighter in short order. Meanwhile Jacobs struggles with Arias and then is pushed to the limit by the smallish Sulecki.
Jacobs getting into the ring with Charlo? No chance in hell.
Calling him out is safe. Actually getting the huevos to enter the ring with him is a completely different proposition.
Re: As I thought Maciej Sulecki was a very game and skilful opponent ; Jacobs had his hands full
surprised you said that, because on another thread about callouts you said boxers actually mean it when they call ppl out and say they want to fight them. now your discounting the legitamacy of callouts, saying there easy and safe and doubting jacobs balls?SenorPipino wrote: ↑29 Apr 2018, 18:28Big crap. Hearn's relations with Haymon constantly worsen lately. He is about to announce some huge US TV deal becoming a direct competitor to PBC. He constantly says that he would do better job promoting Haymon fighters including Wilder and Charlos. I doubt that they could come to terms with Haymon regarding TV network, etc. for Jacobs vs Charlo.SenorPipino wrote: ↑29 Apr 2018, 18:28 You know damn well that Hearn, after seeing his man's uninspiring performance against Sulecki, has no interest in putting him in with Charlo, especially for chump change.

Jacobs vs Charlo fight would do good numbers at Barclays. It's very a good fight.
Re: As I thought Maciej Sulecki was a very game and skilful opponent ; Jacobs had his hands full
It really frustrates me when you all give Jacobs credit for the GGG fight when you know damned well that Jacobs played dirty pool with the second weigh-in and outweighed GGG by at least 20 pounds inside the ring. The HBO announcers do it too so don't feel bad.
Sulecki looked fantastic I thought but he really needs to go to the school of artificially produced power that JMM went to in order to find a knockout punch. Drink urine or take a medley of PEDs like JMM, Sulecki would be a top fighter.

Yeah Jacobs had a very good advantage to not maintain the 160 lbs weight limit for the IBF same day weigh in. His body recovered and rehydrated well compared to GGG's body.caldo2025 wrote: ↑30 Apr 2018, 08:30 It really frustrates me when you all give Jacobs credit for the GGG fight when you know damned well that Jacobs played dirty pool with the second weigh-in and outweighed GGG by at least 20 pounds inside the ring. I still think that Golovkin hurt his right hand/arm/shoulder in the first rounds hitting that massive man, as he wasn't throwing any serious right hands after round 5.apollo creed wrote: ↑30 Apr 2018, 09:58Yeah Jacobs had a very good advantage to not maintain the 160 lbs weight limit for the IBF same day weigh in. ggg simply couldnt deal very well with the speed and mobility. ggg is very powerful but hes rather sluggish and speed can get to him. that in part, along with a lack of defense, prevents him from being a truly great fighter to me.
sulecki may not be as good as ggg overall but hes not slow and plodding, and hes longer.

Re: As I thought Maciej Sulecki was a very game and skilful opponent ; Jacobs had his hands full
That’s a bunch of shit honestly. We had a middleweight fighting a light heavy that night and that’s the only reason why GGG didn’t knock him out. DJ still barely made it to the final bell. He collapsed into the ring rope at final bell.jamamb wrote: ↑30 Apr 2018, 10:05 ggg simply couldnt deal very well with the speed and mobility. ggg is very powerful but hes rather sluggish and speed can get to him. that in part, along with a lack of defense, prevents him from being a truly great fighter to me.

Jacobs and Canelo had to both gain unfair advantages to not get embarrassed by GGG.
