How did Harrison get into a world title shot? He was a voluntary surely. He was making noise? Haye decided to fight him as he was ranked by the WBA?Grilling Machine wrote: ↑29 Apr 2018, 00:29Watching that video, I think it's clear where the blame lies...

In my opinion, Haye is shot or close to it and in many ways because of being so fragile. I won't be surprised, if it reveals, that he will have fought next weekend with some injury, recent or old not healed enough, whatever. I'd say, Bellew will stop him again.

Some of this is from memory, but Haye got a mandatory out of the way in his first fight after Valuev by beating Ruiz. Wlad had signed to rematch Peter, Vitali was fighting Briggs and the concensus rival for third best at the weight at the time (Adamek) was bizarrely signed up to fight Michael Grant.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑29 Apr 2018, 09:17How did Harrison get into a world title shot? Haye had in some ways ran out of options. Obviously there were better names than Audley but it made business sense to be kind to it. I remember Boxing News reporting it had sold out the MEN with six weeks to go.

Groves joke, innit. Comes in at the end there.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑29 Apr 2018, 09:17How did Harrison get into a world title shot? He was a voluntary surely. He was making noise? I remember Haye appearing with Harrison on a ringwalk, either before he'd turned pro or not long after, and the idea of the two ever fighting seemed crazy at the time; huge size difference.
Re: Tony Bellew vs. David Haye II - 5 May 2018
Harrison's come from behind KO against Sprott for the European Title did huge ratings on Sky, Haye wanted an easy payday and Sky were happy to sign off on it.
Re: Tony Bellew vs. David Haye II - 5 May 2018
A fully fit Haye should beat Bellew but I have my doubts. I'm taking Bellew to win this again. I predict Haye to suffer another injury late on in the fight.
This fight will probably be the last one we see of Haye.

It is slightly worrying that Haye is saying the exact same things about his ankle/Achilles injury that he did a few weeks before the rematch was first rescheduled. I can do "more or less" the same things as I did before the injury - this particular injury has had a further 6 months to heal.

You reckon he's with injury?stujones wrote: ↑30 Apr 2018, 05:01 It is slightly worrying that Haye is saying the exact same things about his ankle/Achilles injury that he did a few weeks before the rematch was first rescheduled. Re: Tony Bellew vs. David Haye II - 5 May 2018
I thought December was always going to be a push for his Achilles to heal - but I was fully expecting him to be laughing off suggestions of his achilles playing up now in May. He did not injure his leg in December, yet he is still seeming to be trying to convince everyone about his achilles being fine. That really SHOULDN'T be an issue and worthy of discussion if it was fully healed in December.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑30 Apr 2018, 05:05You reckon he's with injury?stujones wrote: ↑30 Apr 2018, 05:01 It is slightly worrying that Haye is saying the exact same things about his ankle/Achilles injury that he did a few weeks before the rematch was first rescheduled. Live presser from 6pm
Re: Tony Bellew vs. David Haye II - 5 May 2018
for me haye is looking very good he seems to have lost some of his mass and looks more agile. i dont buy this he will get injured again pish only once in his life has he got injured in the ring if he makes it in i don't think he will get injured.
Re: Tony Bellew vs. David Haye II - 5 May 2018
Well that was the most one sided setup I've ever seen. The q&a was embarrassing especially the bloke who claims the world has belles 3-2 up.
What annoyed me most, is that for once haye was reasonably calm and collected, bellew set out to wind him up rotten to the point of being a dick to Ismael Salas.
David doesn't seem to be biting. He reminds me of froch against groves 2, where froch just sat and took groves shite and made him look a fool in the ring.

Hmmm I genuinely don’t know about this one. If Haye is fully fight, then he takes it no question. But he’s falling to bits, so god knows how long he’ll last in there before something gives out on him

Im sticking with the same logic I had going into the first fight, if Haye's fit he should KO Bellew, in all fairness I still thought he'd KO Bellew even with an injury but the Achilles was totally fvcked and Bellew was pretty clever at avoiding the wild lunges and still being wary of Haye's power, Haye went into the fight like a guy who knew he was on borrowed time and that's why he was swinging like a madman, when the injury worsened in the middle rounds Haye's chances were all but over, some heart he showed that night though, incredible to watch
As much as tip my hat to Bellew for winning and stopping Haye, I just think if Haye's fit and had a good camp then he's still too sharp, quick and strong for Bellew, Haye will have a different gameplan this time, he knows he underestimated Bellew last time and he cant just go in there lunging in with wild haymakers
If Haye boxes then I reckon he'll set up Bellew for a knockout around about the halfway point, if Haye's not fit then who knows but I wont be writing Bellew off again too quicky

It took me back to Lewes V Rahman 2 as LL calmly took his crap then dished out the pain on fight night.

I think that is a great summation. I think I lost around £100 on Haye last time, and I'm still inclined to back him again. I give Bellew about a 1% chance of stopping an uninjured Haye, and Haye 90%+ of stopping Bellew if he doesn't break up. But the chances of Haye acquiring or having an injury feels like 25% at the least!
Same as I did the first time, I'll back Haye and hedge Bellew for mitigation.

Proper embarrassing. I don't want to go too much in Scouse stereotypes but why did everyone in the audience think they were a comedian? But its not an anti scouse thing press conferences shouldn't be open to the public the clue is in the title....press, The Warrington v Selby one was just as bad if not worse. Can't think of others where they're open to the public off the top of my head but I'd be pretty confident wherever they're in the country they're equally embarrassing. Just leave it to the media. Public weigh in's are fine and add a bit to the event I don't feel there was any benefit to yesterdays, lets shout stuff from the back of the room event.

My favourite part of the presser.. or what this should be called.. a 'public' conference.
Re: Tony Bellew vs. David Haye II - 5 May 2018
I want Bellew to win this fight. I don't want to see a rubber match. I would rather Bellew goes 2-0 and this is the end of Haye.
