Why is there nothing on the Skeete fight?

Post by forcefraser »

Strange. I can’t find one thread about it.

Done badly inside 2. The Spaniard must be fairly tasty as Skeete is no mug

First time I’ve watched Skeete, bit dull by all accounts, but feck me the Spaniard absolutely crushed him, broke him in 2 and broke his heart too.
Commentary seemed to indicate that Bradley was lined up for a world title shot?

So his team making this fight they must’ve been super confident.. the stunned red face on the usually cocky Andy Ayling was a picture

It was always going to be a tough assignment for Skeete; fighting away from home against a strong puncher with momentum and belief.

I worried that the astmosphere would get to Skeete, and sadly, I think it did. No shame though. No risk. No reward.

He looks pretty damn good, it's on YouTube, just watched it, power in both hands, you can tell he's a big Kosta fan, even got the rats tail thing going on, crowd looked awesome too, facking loads of people there going nuts for him, definitely going to be a big star.

Actually people from the Basque Country in Spain are a special breed! The haircut is quite typical there, also with the dress they are stuck in the 80's.
More importantly the macho culture there is such that it is important to be a real man, and they do breed them tough.

Looking forward to seeing this Basque dude out again! He looked pretty good and obviously carries world class power! He'll need to travel for a shot though!

Would be good to see him in the UK for a fight. But he'a probably too big in Bilbao and sells out arena's there that it would be more beneficial for his opponents to just fight there..

You reckon he would beat Eggington at 147?

I for one was surprised he didn't have a Crass tattoo.

I thought the commentary was terrible for this fight.

Lejarraga was dominating from very early on with his power jab, but the commentators were pretending it was competitive.

Skeete was destroyed like he was nothing.

He reminded me of Daniel Ponce De Leon - both in style and appearance.

I meant an Eggington from last year.. As he did recently fight at 147. Ward is pushing it.

Just watched it, my god that was a very intimidating atmosphere. Skeete just wasn't in this at all.

It was man against boy in there.

Those Skeete shoe shine punches weren't good enough against a puncher who believes in his power and is willing to take some shoe shine punches to land his own power punches. Skeete needed to sit down on right hands early to put this guy in his place but he continued with the shoe shine punches and we saw the result.

He didn't even throw very many of his shoeshine punches either.

Low workrate, weak power and poor defence.

A boxing match can be different but hard to pick against Sam Eggington in a fight

He's not dead, just 7lbs north, plenty of good matches there too.
