They probably won't get near him.
Yeah Danny was a sitting duck but at least he's improved a little.
Vitali was knocking him down with combinations though, not one punch and Wlad would need to do the same kinda.
Skelton doesn't have the punch to stun Wlad but Danny does.
I want to see Danny beat Vidoz first which I'd favour him to do since Vidoz hasn't beat anyone special except Sprott who already beat Hoffman and Koc.

My personal opinion is that Danny is shot. His balance is terrible. Compare the guy who fought in the states a few years back or the guy who sparked Sprott with a fearsome left hook, to the lumbering big lump now. I'm sure the weight doesn't help, but I think that the pummelling at the hands of Vitali and the clubbing he took from Tyson before he found the shots to discourage him, have taken their toll. There is very little snap on his shots now, and his accuracy is gone. It's been noticable for a few fights now, everyone talks about his weight, but truth is, he has been very heavy for quite a while now.

Williams would clearly lose vs. Povetkin for example. He is far over his peak. And in his peak he had no chance vs Vitali and vs the Döner-Bull.

Neither Skelton or Williams would start favourite against Wlad, and I can see both of your scenarios coming off, but there is always a chance in heavyweight boxing of an upset.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Neither guy would get anywhere near him. Danny was like a sitting duck against Vitali, and Wlad hits harder than Vitali too.
Skelton doesn't have the punch power to unduly trouble Wlad, nor the technique, he would be battered from pillar to post.
I've had the same thoughts as you on Williams, he isn't the same boxer as a couple of years ago, but he does possess true world class power, although his workrate and accuracy are not good enough, but he could still spark Wlad if he gets to his chin early.
As for Skelton his chance would be if Wlad didn't get him out early and wears himself out, like in the Brewster fight.
In Wlads last 2 fights he's been able to fight at his own pace , so if someone could make him work harder not have it all his own way, he may blow up again.
Personally i'd like either of the British boxers to get a shot at him, at least it would give them a handy payday.

Skelton would be taking some massive punishment on the way in though. It's one thing fighting that Mauling style against someone who hasn't got the power and accuracy to make you pay, another entirely fighting a 6'6" leviathan with good technique and serious dynamite in his fists. Skelton would get seriously hurt in there with his non existent defence and poor offensive technique.

Brewster has the same defence, his stratagy against Wlad seemed to consist of catching as many punches on his head as he could.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Skelton would be taking some massive punishment on the way in though. It would come down to if Skelton could take those punches, not sure he can , but that would be the only way he could win.
Also if the fight was in Germany I don't know if a ref would let Skelton maul to much on the inside.
As i said both Williams and Skelton would have a very slim chance of winning , but its a chance

I think Valuev would be a bad choice for Williams, i just don't think he would get close enough to land his shots, the only reason I'm giving Williams a chance against Wlad is because i don't have much faith in Wlads chin.
I'd have to say that Valuev would get Williams out of there in 9-10 rounds, just by wearing him down

Williams-Valuev only existed in the "Warrenwonderland"Boxing Addict wrote:Winner of Danny Vs Skelton should get a shot
Greenburg is awful and hasn't fought anyone
The commisions always take the piss!!!
I thought Danny was promised Valuev?
Nobody over here wants to see a boxer who was chanceless vs the Döner-Bull nearly killed by Vitali. Maybe he has a little chance in a holding and brawling festival vs Vidoz. I only give him a chance to win on points when the fight takes place in England. I just know that Universum had no interest in letting the Döner-Bull fight vs Williams for the EBU title and investing money in a fight nobody wants to see here. They wait when the time comes for Dimitrenko, Chagaev etc.. I have heard that the Döner-Bull has lost 10 kilos under Fritz Sdunek and must be fit like never before. I am curious....

Danny would beat Valuev easily, this guys is a lot worst than Danny, even less fitter, just very big.
I mean Valuev - world champion !!! takes piss out of boxing!!
Cannot Box or punch - awful
Wlad - I don't know, should easily beat Danny but Danny's got a punchers chance.
Common don't jump on the Valuev bandwagon, he is a fake champion, and only got built up and given a chance cos of his size.
More of a freak show than a legitimate champion, Danny or Skelton would take his head off, massive target anno, you can't miss.
I've seen Valuev a few times and his been awful, also have to admit Ruiz did beat him!!!!

I don't think Valuev is going to be a great champion, but i have not been impressed with Danny Williams lately, he did show an improvment in his fitness against Skelton, but he also seems to have lost alot of speed and accuracy as well.
He does have the look of a fighter who doesn't beleive in himself , I'm not sure that he will ever get that back either

well said, Nico won´t be a great fighter but IMO reached a draw vs Ruiz who has good names in his record and was a legit champion. Nico will make some defenses and then maybe next year he will lose vs Wladi and then maybe reitire.......His knees and bones won´t bear these extreme training sessions for a long time. He is intelligent enough to know that he won´t box at this level for the next 5 years. After the Brock-fight I think he will box in Russia. Team Sauerland thought about this option for the Donald-fight.topper123 wrote:I don't think Valuev is going to be a great champion, but i have not been impressed with Danny Williams lately, he did show an improvment in his fitness against Skelton, but he also seems to have lost alot of speed and accuracy as well.

just for the record...klitschko manages himself.....and is promoted by K@ promotions (himself )
the german link is because the brothers have a masive following there and are german nationals too... they lived and trained in hamburg for many years.
germany offers big money to its sporting heroes.....

well he was 4kg lighter for Arias than he was for Maskaev.. so thats a good sign....BubiScholz wrote:I have heard that the Döner-Bull has lost 10 kilos under Fritz Sdunek and must be fit like never before. I am curious....
why did he get so fat.... the guy is a natural cruiser weight at best
He didnt use the Holyfield methods of getting up to heavy either.....
Whilst Wlad is naturally bigger, stronger, fitter and has better boxing technique than Danny. I would say Danny hits harder.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Skelton would be taking some massive punishment on the way in though. Lots of Wlad's fights go rounds and I don't think I have seen him score a clean one punch KO.

Give a Magnum to a blind man and a 22 cal to a marksman and the marksman will do muh more damage.
Danny might hit harder in a circus punch out but Wlad will hit harder more often.
Wlad would muller Danny.
I am in agreement KO Artist - look what his brother did to him, and this one is the more skilled of the two (if not as complete a "fighter" as Vitali). One clean punch from Danny though and he would be the IBF champion, I have no doubts about that - but I do have major doubts that he would deliver the shot.KO Artist wrote:stujones wrote:Whilst Wlad is naturally bigger, stronger, fitter and has better boxing technique than Danny. However, Danny did deliver a fair few clean shots vs Skelton and for the MOST part (expect the 12th) Skelton stood up to them well.
I actually think Skelton vs Klitchsko would be more interesting than Williams vs Klitchsko - cause I think Skelton CAN take his shots and has the balls and fitness to apply more pressure than Danny. Although a systematic beating (ala Vitali vs Danny) is probably the favourred result.

This is what I am saying. Danny hasn't looked devastating a puncher in some time. His timing and snap just isn't there like it was a few years ago. that may be due to being in poor fighting shape, or it could be just as likely because his balance and timing is off.stujones wrote:I am in agreement KO Artist - look what his brother did to him, and this one is the more skilled of the two (if not as complete a "fighter" as Vitali). Danny might be able to throw an almighty haymaker which is harder than Wlad's shots, but Wlad's shots are more accurate and that is far more important. Wlad has a higher stoppage rate than Danny too I believe.
