They'll force him to allow himself to get smashed to pieces will they?

Fighting noob opponents will be far better for him than fighting world level opposition.

What are you not getting?
whats wrong with him just calling it a day and earning a living as a plumber.

its not like hes going to get knocked for his bill.
Nothing James. Obviously Horses Ass is a relative. We've seen shot fighters. Price isn't shot, but he isn't going anywhere either. Too susceptible for my liking.

If they use him for 'noob' opposition such as Gorman, Joyce, Dubois etc then it ain't gonna end well for him.

He probably won't be used at anywhere near world level or even European level again for that matter and he's already reigned at domestic level before so what else is left for him? Apart from some more concussions and mediocre purses! It makes no sense carrying on IMO.
He won't get used for noob opposition Stuart, it's way too risky.
Gotta protect the "0" if your headed for the big top.

His jab seemed far less crap against Povetkin than it had been in other fights.

He really didn't seem like a gun-shy pussy against Povetkin, he was just in against an opponent who was too good for him.
and how much would that performance have taken from him? It's the first time he's looked half way decent in as long as I can remember and he was still dropped twice and finished off pretty badly!

If his decision to carry on is based on a half decent showing against Povetkin then that's just wrong IMO.

I dunno. I reckon the three I mentioned would jump at that fight if offered.

Tentative is putting it nicely. He usually fights like he's downright scared these days. Even against guys with losing records.

Price is a decent bloke but he hasnt the tools to go beyond British level. He could pick off someone like Fred Kassi who seems decent on record but his team have to pick the right fights. Its no point jumping at a higher level and fighting the likes of Joyce or Simon Kean or Junior Far because he will get parked. im not saying he couldnt beat then at some point but not immediately.

Just look at the victims here he could work on and build up a few wins, then begin to look at european level

I agree he is shot but if i was his manager I could get him some wins at a lower level fighting blokes who seems to be decent.

The issue is he wants to be fighting world top 10, but Price isnt world top 30 but they cant see it. There ar eplenty of boxers out there who have decent records on paper but are inept. They just need to find them, bring them over here and fill small halls.

KiwiRider wrote: 04 May 2018, 16:13Oh for sure he does. I rate his punching power at #3-#5 in the HW world. Given his height and reach, it is a huge risk for any HW, domestic or international. That's why I think most up and coming guys would avoid him like the plague. Why take the risk if it's not mandatory? And right now he is mandatory to nothing.
The British scene is great for any fighter who is willing to take a few relatively low paying fights to rebuild themselves.

There is a clear path back to the top. Anyone who wants to fight for the British title will have to fight him if he chooses to go down that path.

Bernard Adie

Get him over here 16 and 6 not a bad record, but Price would blow him away. Put this fight on at Scarborugh or Bridlington Spa sell about 300 ticket and bingo.

Its not rocket science

That's the rub. He'll look good against sandbags and may take another shot, which could prove catastrophic. I remember seeing so many fighters get hurt or worse, in similar situations.

never lost below strong euro level and gave a count to povetkin, thompson, hammer. how many guys would do that without even being at least british level?

im not as convinced as others that hes shot and couldnt win below strong euro level. its not like hes been taken out by cornish, sexton, or even lower level euro title guys. its not clear at all that he wouldnt finish guys at those levels if he gets them in trouble, and hes gotten even world top 5 fighters in trouble.

a guy like lenroy thomas gets ko'd by a 11-9 nobody, run over by breazeale without any competitive moments, draws after 6 with totally shopworn jason estrada, stopped in 3 by fedosov, yet ppl have no problem with him going on

for me, him losing at a lower level then he has lost at would be a much stronger sign to pack it in. losing to a guy like cornish would say hes shot, because he used to win easily at that level

losing to strong euro or world class guys doesnt say shot when he never won there

jason welborn won the british mw tonight, yet he was stopped by tyan booth, frankie gavin, and liam smith, lost to 18-96 warnburton, lost to craig cunningham, down on all the cards vs 15-15 terry carruthers, etc.......if a guy like that were fighting world class or fringe world class hed be getting routed too, yet at his own level he even gets plaudits and no one calls fior retirement

he was when he was on the peds, scored some frightening ko's aside from price and beat duhaupas, who shortly after beat charr and helenius

lower level guys at ebu level would be like hubeux and rovcanin. they fought for the euro recently, as did franz rill. maybe pala was at this level too when price beat him

I simply don't agree with the decision to fight on. I assume he has wife and kids. Not to belabor the point, but he needs to hang it up before he gets hurt. Boxing is safety first. At least should be.

He's just lost to a top level guy but was also 20 seconds ftom taking him out. The KO looked bad but i think hes bright enough to know if there's anything left at the lower level. I hope he gets a few wins and manoeuvres himself to another big payday.
I'd still like to see him fight Tyson Fury.

seconds from taking him out is a gross exaggeration. he was wobbled. nothing to suggest he was about to be stopped.
