Could Jackson KO Hagler?
Could Jackson KO Hagler?
Julian Jackson was arguably P4P the hardest puncher of all time. Marvin Hagler had arguably the best chin of all time. What happens when an immovable object meets an irresistible force?
Say Jackson lands a bomb of a right hand on Hagler's chin. Could he knock him out?

Any fighter can get knocked out by the fists of Julian Jackson, including Marvelous. That guy Jackson hit too hard! Too hard!

There is NO immovable object... There ARE irresistible explosions in deep space... The big bang was one and every living creature in the universe is the product of the big bang....VG_Addict wrote: ↑04 May 2018, 17:22 Julian Jackson was arguably P4P the hardest puncher of all time. Jackson didn't knockout everyone Roy Jones knocked out... But he would KO Hagler for certain... Hagler was down before... Gennady Golovkin has never been down and has never been shaken... His chin is much better than Hagler's... Hagler would have been knocked out by James Toney... Mike McCallum might have stopped him... McCallum brutally stopped Julian Jackson in 2 rounds... Triple-G might have stopped Hagler... Carlos Monzon might have stopped Hagler..

Re: Could Jackson KO Hagler?
Possible if Jackson surprised Hagler with one but as proved throughout Jackson's career,he quite often failed at the very highest level.
Re: Could Jackson KO Hagler?
Of course, there was a possibility, a "puncher chance", but this fight was more likely to have Hagler knocking Jackson out, cause Hagler obviously had a more of a class.
Re: Could Jackson KO Hagler?
I'm sorry, nobody is from the past and present middleweight fighters in their prime aren't knocking out Hagler because you underestimate the Marvelous One's iron chin. I know that is your opinion, but James Toney is not knocking out Hagler despite the the fact he was a counter puncher and neither does McCallum and Triple G. The only time Hagler was knocked down was a questionable one against Roldan when it fact was a slipped and Hagler got up and ended up stopping Roldan in 10. Maybe Monzon may just out-box Hagler to take a decision because Hagler was too hard to knock him out because of his legendary iron chin. Hagler would beat Toney, McCallum and GGG in their prime. Also, Hagler would knock Julian Jackson out and have more like Dr. Duke said.

Where did the gas come from for this alleged big bang?Kalan wrote: ↑05 May 2018, 01:23There is NO immovable object... There ARE irresistible explosions in deep space... Jackson's too small - it would take a strong Light Heavyweight to put Hagler on the canvas, Jackson couldn't do it.
Here is a situation where a great puncher doesn't even have a puncher's chance; Hagler would shake off any blow Jackson could muster. He would walk through Jackson just as he walked through Hearns.

We know the stars, galaxies, super novas, quasars etc. are all screaming away from each other from a center point... We know the big bang happened and all the matter in the universe was once contained in a infinitesimal point... How and why it ignited is as big a mystery as dark matter is. We know less about the big bang than we know about the Higgs boson, gluons, quarks, muons, taus, and other strange subatomic particles... We know our sun will become a red giant and consume our solar system... We know the universe will keep expanding forever until it disperses into nothingness in trillions of years. Obviously we'll never learn everything if the human race endures for another million years.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑05 May 2018, 07:43Where did the gas come from for this alleged big bang?Kalan wrote: ↑05 May 2018, 01:23There is NO immovable object... Re: Could Jackson KO Hagler?
HELL NO. After Julian connects, and Hagler still stands after the smoke clears, Jackson knows the beatdown is imminent. and Hagler stops him in three.
Re: Could Jackson KO Hagler?
I think Jackson had the kinda power to knock out most anybody. That being said, I'd say the majority of the time Hagler's toughness, and skill is gonna prove to be too much before Jackson's bomb ever gets home on him.
Hagler wasn't exactly feather fisted himself either, and considering how much more skilled he was, and how much better he took a punch it's hard to imagine that Hagler doesn't beat Jackson the majority of the time.
Outside of a 1 shot KO from the PERFECT shot I don't see Jackson ever beating Hagler.

Re: Could Jackson KO Hagler?
Hagler's chin was impenetrable. Never knocked down except for that bogus call in the Roldan fight.
Jackson was a smallish middleweight who usually failed against elite fighters. The exception being versus a young Norris, whose chin was always questionable.
Hagler would FEEL Jackson's punch, but you would never know it. He would just keep on marching forward and begin taking apart The Hawk in short order.
Jackson might be able to KO just about anybody from 154 to 160.
But not Marvin Hagler. He was a rock.
And Hagler would absorb whatever Jackson could land and pound out Jackson---whose chin wasn't that strong---within 3 rounds.

Most of us strongly agree with you.SenorPipino wrote: ↑06 May 2018, 23:08 Hagler's chin was impenetrable. Never knocked down except for that bogus call in the Roldan fight.

Re: Could Jackson KO Hagler?
I echo what others have said. I mean, technically Jackson could knock him out. For example if Hagler was to drop his hands, stand still and let Jackson hit him. But in reality, in an actual fight I don't see The Hawk being able to land that one in a million punch that it'd take to knock out Marvin Hagler.
I'd bet big money on a Hagler KO inside 4 in this hypothetical match up.
