Is Lomachenko ready to be toppled ?
Is Lomachenko ready to be toppled ?
Do you see any signs of weakness from Vasyl Lomachenko ?
If so what ?
If so what ?
Re: Is Lomachenko ready to be toppled ?
He is still developing. From what we've seen, it looks like, trying to outbox Lomachenko won't be a good idea. Some bigger and stronger opponent, who can impose a fight, may be threatening.
Re: Is Lomachenko ready to be toppled ?
You don't develop at 30.

Fighting professionally is something he has done eleven times. Of course he can still be improving.
Re: Is Lomachenko ready to be toppled ?
Yes, it's exactly that kind of a fighter, who can trouble Loma. Actually I had Lomachenko winning the fight vs Salido, furthermore Salido, as we know, was low blowing all the way, he should have been deducted points. And Loma is improving since then. But still I'll give to some mauler more chances, than to any technician.
Re: Is Lomachenko ready to be toppled ?
shows how good he is that in his second pro fight he fought really close with a tough as nails multi time world champ with boat loads of pro experience. and he ended that fight by hurting salido and winning the last rounds. he clearly got much better and even just a few fights later was low blowing guys back and not just quietly accepting rough stuff
but i think mikeys greater size and excellent ability might be a combo that is too far

Re: Is Lomachenko ready to be toppled ?
I think at times he has defensive lapses, and tends to unnecessary shots.
I don't know if it's from boredom during the fight that things are just too easy or dropping his guard taking chances he doesnt need to, to show off.
But against the right guy, we could see him put in a position to see how he handles adversity.
He doesn't have one shot power, so as he goes against bigger guys, they may not be as deterred by getting hit and not landing. They'll be more willing to go through his fire.
Hope we see the Pacquiao fight... if Manny looks good vs Lucas.

Re: Is Lomachenko ready to be toppled ?
Any chance he has of losing it'd be to either Linares, Berchelt, or Mikey (also in order of chance of success). He beats pretty much everyone else easily.
Re: Is Lomachenko ready to be toppled ?
Mikey is the only one i see beating Loma. Everyone else cant.
Re: Is Lomachenko ready to be toppled ?
This is the potential vulnerability that I see. Although you almost have to factor in how many insane low blows Salido got away with, he basically jabbed and sustained an erratic body attack that messed with Loma's style of slipping out of the pocket and punching from a side angle. Also forced Loma to keep his elbows lower to protect the body, which affected his offense. I think it would bode well for Linares to study that fight and maybe come up with a more sophisticated version of Salido's strategy.
Re: Is Lomachenko ready to be toppled ?
Linares is gonna be the bigger, stronger fighter so he could definitely emulate things Salido did. As could most anybody from 135 on up I think. They'd all have a size and strength advantage over Loma from that weight class onward I'd imagine.jpspice wrote: ↑02 May 2018, 22:32This is the potential vulnerability that I see. Re: Is Lomachenko ready to be toppled ?
You do so get better at 30.... Depends on your determination and work ethic.. Bernard Hopkins said he reached his peak around 36... Probably Archie Moore reached his peak in his late 30's... He had 75 fights when the smaller Charlie Burley knocked the crap out of him -- but it seemed Moore was just getting started.
Re: Is Lomachenko ready to be toppled ?
There are some dangerous guys in 130 and 135. Gervonta Davis has KO power that is dangerous for anybody, and dont forget Miguel Berchelt. Im not saying these two can beat Lomachenko, but saying they have no chance is not a good idea

Re: Is Lomachenko ready to be toppled ?
DID THE SALIDO FIGHT EVEN HAPPEN? IS THIS AN OLD OP? NEWSFLASH...IT ALREADY HAPPENED.
Re: Is Lomachenko ready to be toppled ?
he rebuilt very well after a sd loss to a very tough experienced world champ in his 2nd pro fight and is now high in rankings, the questions obviously about him being knocked from that spot he has now you dumb attention seeking sh!t

Re: Is Lomachenko ready to be toppled ?
I can't see anyone near his size beating him with fundamental technique. While there are a lot of variables surrounding the Salido loss, it hasn't changed my mind that the best style of fighter to make him at least look less than sensational remains the same. Some variation of these qualities: strong, durable, perhaps crude or at least unorthodox, unwavering mentality, mauling, pressuring. The type that simply doesn't care about being to made to look foolish.
Guys like Linares and Berchelt don't fit those criteria. Honestly, neither does Garcia, although the added size, strength and power give him a better shot than the other two.
I'd favor Crawford, but at that point the weight becomes such a disparity that it hardly becomes a bold claim. If the 130 or 135 pound divisions had an equivalent, I'd probably give them a solid shot. As it is, I see no such fighter.

Re: Is Lomachenko ready to be toppled ?
No, best boxer on the planet since GGG and Mayweather have aged IMO.
Crawford is next.
I like Linares, so should be the most competitive fight since Lomo lost in his first crack at a title.

Re: Is Lomachenko ready to be toppled ?
It happened, Kalan. Get to know it. Salido won on my card and guess what? The judges even got it right. So it's a loss. So the title of this OP should be "IS LOMACHENKO READY TO BE TOPPLED AGAIN?"
Re: Is Lomachenko ready to be toppled ?
It happens sometimes in other sports too. Goran Dragic made his first NBA (basketball) all-star team this year and he's 31.Kalan wrote: ↑03 May 2018, 00:08You do so get better at 30....
