Re: Round-by-Round - Tony Bellew vs. David Haye II - 5 May 2018
Joyce batters Thomas and drops him again in the 2nd round. It's OVER! Joe Joyce in only his 4th Pro Contest is the Commonwealth Champion!
KO 2 Joe Joyce
KO 2 Joe Joyce

Bloody hell I expected more from Thomas than that.

Re: Round-by-Round - Tony Bellew vs. David Haye II - 5 May 2018
as a boxer he is awful but he obviously hits really hard and has a great engine and by all accounts a good chin. I watch him and find his style laughable but he gets them out of there so you can't knock him
Re: Round-by-Round - Tony Bellew vs. David Haye II - 5 May 2018
When Thomas caught him with a straight in the first a thought we’d have a decent fight here! Obviously not

Think Joyce went into this one similar how to Joshua went in with Whyte
Re: Round-by-Round - Tony Bellew vs. David Haye II - 5 May 2018

Re: Round-by-Round - Tony Bellew vs. David Haye II - 5 May 2018
Reminds me of a 70s Foreman, albeit a watered down version

Dunno what it is and it is obviously some kind of optical illusion but JJ always looks like he is moving in slow motion to me. He lands plenty so obviously moves plenty fast enough though.
Re: Round-by-Round - Tony Bellew vs. David Haye II - 5 May 2018
Yeah - seems to be a 'better than he looks' type. He isslow and plodding, but I guess he's just so strong and insistent it doesn't really matter - @ this level anyway.leejonesjnr wrote: ↑05 May 2018, 15:03 Dunno what it is and it is obviously some kind of optical illusion but JJ always looks like he is moving in slow motion to me. Butler has four defeats? Oops MC cock up
Re: Round-by-Round - Tony Bellew vs. David Haye II - 5 May 2018
Did they just announce Butler as having 4 defeats? It never fails to amaze me how many cock-ups get made in boxer intros.
Re: Round-by-Round - Tony Bellew vs. David Haye II - 5 May 2018
Agree with that. I've always wondered how on Earth he lands so much (even at the top level as an amateur) with that slow, awkward style. I think he simply doesn't telegraph very much and always puts himself in a good position to throw such that opponents never have time to get cosy and think about how to counter him - that makes up for the lack of speed.skanksta wrote: ↑05 May 2018, 15:06Yeah - seems to be a 'better than he looks' type. butler down twice in the first, a big left hook for the first and then just sort of crumpled down under a combo for the second
