Why do you hate him so much? It's funny I've spoken to a lot of people this week with a similar opinion, he was fcuking awesome in his prime.

So was I, but at least I was wary enough about Haye's body to not lose any money this time.

Haye'll watch it back and kick himself for abandoning his effective jab after the 2nd. Not sure what his fitness was like, but it seemed as if he could've won a boring decision had he focused on one. :maybe:

I've explained it twice this week already.

Talking massive sh*t to the Klitschko's then pulling out of the fights over and over again, and dragging on the negotiations forever only for the fight to finally come off, absolutely suck, and then he whips out his toe...f*ck that dude.

I expected him to make hard work of it and scrape his final win. It's been clear since his shoulder op that he was never getting back into Joshua-beating form, but for a man who's hardly fought in 5 years it's been a rapid and sad decline.

People talk about age, but Herol gave a good account of himself aged 38 versus Brewer. A few years later Brewer featured in the prime Calzaghe's best-wins list. Hopkins wasn't physically as good at 40 as 30, but nevertheless elite. Those are just two of many former world-class operators nearing (or in) middle-age.

But Haye's naturally much smaller than 220, and his years of punishing his body for size have caught up with him. I think he should've knocked most of his lifting on the head this time, returning to loads of press-ups and running (sacking off that stairmaster), trying to bring his weight back down to 210. If Wilder's comfortable at 220, there's no need for Haye to be that heavy.

He is finished as a boxer.
As for boxing, no. He has a decent gym, a few good fighters on his Haymaker Promotions company and he has co produced and produced some good shows. He may even pass on what he has learned as a boxer into being a trainer. Boxing hasn't seen the last of David Haye.

It's sad really, imagine what the Haye who fought Enzo would have done tonight, an absolute shadow of his former self, you could see it in that media training session with the midget with block shoes on, I mean seriously?

You also said this hatred of Haye was irrational.

He was a bit of a godsend at the time. Heavyweight boxing had been absolutely devoid of entertainment for years. Tell me, how often are you sat there watching replays of Ibragimov Briggs, Klitschko Johnson, Maskaev Okhello and Valuev Ruiz and thinking to yourself 'this is why I fell in love with boxing.' Answer - you aren't because they, like so many other heavyweight fights, were tedious.

Haye may not have always walked the walk - albeit I still think the loss to Klitschko was portrayed as worse than it really was - but he injected some much needed excitement into a moribund division. And he was in some genuinely entertaining fights.

I don't have to keep explaining to you f*cking people why I don't like David Haye. I just don't f*cking like him. Deal with it.

And YES he was in some genuinely entertaining fights. My favorites being his last two.

Well, you've tried explaining, but it does seem irrational. 'I like seeing a guy get beaten up and injured because, about nine years ago, he didn't fight a guy who he'd signed to fight, but he did later fight him anyway, and in between he fought someone else.'

Alright mate.

I liked him before he moved up to heavyweight, then for whatever reason he became unbearable, I think for a lot of people though he never recovered from blaming his toe for his woeful effort against Wlad after saying he was going to do this and do that and since has become a figure of fun. fornicate him the man is a conman who should not get paid for that last night, he knew yet again he was carrying an injury going into another PPV fight.

Now see even I wouldn't say he shouldn't get paid. He showed up, he fought. He didn't say he carried an injury into the ring, and there's no reason to believe that was the case. He looked like sh*t in there, but that could just be a case of all the injuries from before adding up, and hindering his movement and not necessarily a case of him being injured in the fight tonight.

Oh no, I'm fine with people expressing an opinion.

Irrational hate is a weird thing though. I'd like to think I have reasons for disliking or indeed liking the boxers I do. Certainly better reasons than 'I hate him because nine years ago he said he'd beat a guy and then when he fought him he lost.'

He came back to pay for his divorce. Mission accomplished surely?

Mind you, all the while he can eek a few more quid out of fighting people who don’t offer serious risk, the temptation might be to carry on.

Sad end to a top fighters career. Losing to fighters who, in your prime, can’t hold your jockstrap is an age old story in boxing though, seen it all before and we’ll see it again.

I don't think it's that bad. Bellew is a little underrated in my opinion.

I don't like cocky f*ckers that make excuses when they lose. Haye is a cocky f*cker that makes excuses when he loses.

He was all "Full credit to Bellew" tonight, but watch him pull an excuse out of his ass when asked again in a couple of weeks.
