Bellew Vows: "I Will Knock Andre Ward Out! I Will Beat Him!"

Tony Bellew (30-2-1, 20 KOs) is gunning for a showdown with former super middleweight and light heavyweight champion Andre Ward (32-0, 16 KOs), who retired last year.

He called for a fihe would knock him out.

"I will beat Andre Ward, I will knockout Andre Ward," Bellew said. "He's a pound-for-pound king but I will beat him."

"It's a fight [against Fury] I like. There's loads of options, we will just have to see. Ward wants the fight."

After negotiations broke down, I didn't think Bellew would still mention Ward's name so it kind of surprised me a little when he and Hearn did.

Chances are slim but it would be a pov fight in the UK. I'm not sure how much Ward demanded last time but the fight is now bigger than it would have been last year. Maybe they could pay him what he wants..

He mentioned Usyk and Gassiev's name. I think he'll only fight Usyk. For all the belts.

Ward would damage Bellew though. As I said in another thread, Bellew said inside fighters have no chance against him. But Ward is something else. Catchweight would be involved.

wards not really that damaging a fighter, for every kov stoppage theres far more barrera fights. vs a bigger man more suited to cruiser i can see just a decision in an ugly fight.

if ward wins he hasnt won a cw title or beaten a really renound elite cruiser, if bellew wins hes beat a guy whose excellent at smw and very good at lhw, but with no cruiser wins and most of his career at smw. its not some big attention grabbing fight like a hw title fight or fury would be either

Just seems an odd name to pull out considering he's retired, and never fought above Light Heavyweight.

Regardless of who Bellew fights next there's a good chance I'd be rooting for him because if it's Andre Ward OR Tyson Fury it'd be yet another case of him fighting somebody I'm not overly fond of...that's putting it extremely generous in the case of Fury.

Why call out Light Heavyweights at all? The Cruiserweight division is as deep as it's ever been in my entire time as a fan right now.

Also there's no shortage of lucrative Heavyweight contests either.

ya it screams cherry pick, like he wants to claim to beating the p4p #1 and possibly claiming it for himself, and he sees that the guy is significantly smaller etc. , so that he might actually have a chance of it if the size tells

probably sees it as by far his best chance to beat someone considered p4p elite.

He's calling out Ward because it gives him bragging rights , Wards retired and busy with TV an movies , Creed 2 and the contender , , But if he don't take it Bellow will shout from the rooftops , the pound 4 pound daouldna fight me , and for every year that passes he'll shout louder and louder ,

If by some chance Ward says OK , which he won't because the money offer will be shite , if it even comes , then thers a good chance , Bellow could beat him , just because he's too big , think Bellow v AJ ,,

Bellow , is probably a better boxer technicly than AJ and Wilder , but we all agree they are to big and would hammer him , So god forbid Bellow got a fight with Ward and out muscled him , there would be no living with the man .

Bellow should man up and call out the top cruiserweights or even Whyte , ,Until then he may has well call out Ricky Hatton or Prince Nasseem , it has as much credence

He may fight Fury though. I would love to see a fully fit fury beat the beejaysus out of Bellow.

Bellow to his credit is a tough man and has a great left hook, but as Fury said himself, he is 6ft 9 inches of "insidefightingness"
