Hearn's circus

Post by coneye »

Bellows , Talking shite and he knows it , To start with Ward is retired and busy making a movie , then he's , got the job on the contender to do , then he would have to find time to train , UNLESS they made an offer worthy of coming out of retirement, and giving away a luctrative job in front of the cameras ,

Now if they do that , who are they facing a super middle who's gone to light heavy , and facts are facts ,Bellow is a HEAVYWEIGHT , ok not a big heavyweight , but regardless still a heavyweight , We all know theres no way he goes back to cruiserweight , and fight the best there , because he filled himself up on pies and chips at his nans favorite chippy , to escape the top guys there , in other words he ducked EVERY good cruiserweight .

So that makes him a heavyweight , he does'nt want a crack at the top guys , ones his mate and the others too big , But remember there was'nt much difference in size between Haye and Bellow , Imagine the stick Haye would of got if he did'nt want to fight other heavys because they were too big , Haye did'nt say i'm not fighting Klitchko , he's too big , or the big russian because he was too big .

Bellow , has had a dream run , and he has a lot of fights out there , in the heavyweights scene he has
Chisora
Whyte
Miller
Ortiz
Thats just to name a few and still staying away from the monsters , If he don't want them , stop eating chips go back to cruiserweight and get spanked by any of the top 4 he's already ducked

If he does'nt want that , well take his pot of gold he found at the end of the 2 rainbows , with the help of Haye , and retire , but for fooks sake don't be bellowing about fighting a retired guy 2 divisions lower .

Don't know what it is about Hearns and his fighters , Whyte is another wanker , Whats he done he gets a gift against Chisora ,, a journeyman gatekeeper , , he fights a big slow lumbering Viking who's there for a payday , and can't even be bothered throwing a punch , Eddie uses his influence to get him rated , pays some fee's and wants a shot at Wilder , Whyte then beats a fat out of shape not fought for 2 years Brown , beats him , Eddie coughs up the fee's , to buy a fight with Wilder

When the WBC come to there sences and relize there not being fair they order a elimination bout with ORTIZ , a good solid boxer , and Whyte and Hearn cry like bables , its not fair , we paid sanctioning fees to buy our way to the shot at Wilder , Now what is that peanut Whyte doing, he's calling David Haye out , Yeh AFTER HE SEEN HE'S COMPLETLY SHOT ,

Crying he should'nt fight Ortiz , but wants to fight Haye talk about cherry picking whilst at the same time playing the hard man i'll fight anyone gangster ,

And while i'm at it whats with the BBBC , after all the times they jumped on Fury in the past , whats with this Whyte and his thug mates , being interviewed and carrying on Chisoras over there. WE not I, but WE can go sort him out now , his thug mate going on about WE can put him in a choke hold Bla bla bla ,, Wheres the bbbc , talk about bringing the game into disrepute , Whyte needs to be put in with Ortiz and then he can show his true level and fook off ,

Bellow well he needs to stop ducking good fighters or simply retire

Hearn he needs to , take off his top hat , stop being the ringmaster for his clowns and circus , and get back to some serious promoting ala Groves and Froch

Agree with a fair bit but this post is just complimenting Hearns skill as a promoter.

Rex Rickard promoted Jack Dempsey against Georges Carpentier - a man who turned pro at Flyweight & who had won Euro titles from Welter up.

It was boxings first million dollar fight.

That's just the way the sport is. A promoter builds up fights to sell to the public.

Eddie's dad did the same with snooker. Create a bunch of characters and sell them. Eddie, with IFL TV, get the message across from each fighter very well.

Good for them.

There is that , and occasionaly its not too bad , But my local supermarket , (Coles ) spends a fortune on advertizing , and it works , so my wife goes there , but buy apples with worms in them once , no problem , wear it , buy them the same next week , Mmmm , whats going on , weeks 3 and 4 , and the answer is don't go there .

Hearn to me is putting up these fights far too regular , milking the public ect ect , Trying to buy ratings ala Whyte , He's in the know , he's a leading promoter , you can't tell me that the word around the industry is'nt Haye is fooked , but he still does it , he still goes after the circus act , and he does it time and time again , He does'nt sell a decent boxing fight , he sells a night out on the piss and coke , if people want to buy into it thats fair enough , But me i would rather he say , Bellow time to step up to the plate son , your getting plenty of money fight a top 5 cruiser or heavy take your pick

Then perhaps say to Whyte , Dillan step up son , you got a lucky pass against the gatekeepr Chisora , no more buying you rankings , step up son fight a top 5 contender before you challenge Wilder .

But most of all become a boxing promoter not a ciscus promoter , we all get bored with the circus

He has the perfect fight in his stable Bellow and Whyte ,, the size is'nt a issue , Whyte is'nt a massive heavyweight , But Bellow wants to get a multi million pound payday against a retired guy who's 2 divisions lower , and Whyte wants to fight Haye

When people become bored of the circus they stop buying tickets.

Yes, he puts on some gimmicky fights sold to the casual market with a healthy bit of built up beef chucked in - Haye and Bellew being the prime example. But let's not pretend that all his fights are like this.

The main even may have been "gimmikey" but the undercard was solid. I didn't have to pay because it was free where I am, but if I had, I would have considered it pretty good value.

Eddie has become more irritating by the day. Full of his own self-importance mocking a 70+ year old calling him Shirley Winkle.
After a big fight he puts on that fake east end accent and starts analysing the fight. Bore off. The fella who said it is a night out for the casuals is spot on. Coke and a belly full of beer.
This circus type boxing has 1.5 years left before it disappears into the wilderness again. I had to switch Bellew off on Saturday night. His inane drivel makes my skin crawl. His improved but would never have beaten Haye in his day.
Kugan is another who gets on my nerves and even Froch is programmed for barrerrrraa and morales now! Fml

It'll never disappear because it's always been around.

Fair bit of truth there, especially regarding Bellew and Whyte. Them two are actually made for each other right now.

It’s another decent payday for Tony and gives Whyte a chance to further enhance his ranking, with a fair amount of smoke and mirrors involved.

Con

I've been watching fights since the mid 70s & am enjoying the current scene as much as at any time.

I know there's a lot of hype and drama but it's better than when there were constant calls for banning boxing or just indifference.

The sport is HOT in the UK right now. I wish there was 10% of the interest over here.

His job is to promote boxing. That's what he's doing.

The sport is going well in the UK, And thats why it does'nt need circus acts to bring it down , OK its always happenned , BUT NOT AS OFTEN , ,

I agree Hearns job is to promote boxing and build boxers , he keeps telling us that , and what does he produce , like i said circus acts . Lets just hope he's runs out of clowns shortly and gets back to trapeze artists , Fights like Groves - Froch , .. AJ -- Klitchko ,, BRILLIANT .. ... Fights like Bellow - Haye ,Whyte - Brown , well i keep saying circus acts , .

Just my thoughts but heh , theres lots who disagree with me, just ask the ones who parted with there hard earned .

Haye and Bellew wasn’t a fight I took particularly seriously but you’re wrong about Ward.

If Bellew fights him at Crusierweight Ward will break him down on the inside, he’s definitely big enough to fight Tony Bellew.

It's just different promoting, appealing to a younger audience who are not jaded the way most that came up from the 80s/90s did.

I remember Henry Cooper literally quitting boxing punditry because he didn't like all the "razzmatazz" of Hamed with the ring entrances, the hyperbole and all the lights. I mean, really?

I don't particularly like the way everyone seems to tweet at the drop of a hat or seemingly every 2 minutes or the way that the coverage is dumbed down for people with low attention spans or ADHD. It's also the reason they do music in-between rounds too, I think. It's like everyone is uncomfortable with silence or something.

The way they tweet the results are really cringy but I get that it's not to appeal to me, it's to appeal to idiots who can't remember what they did 5 minutes ago.
