Doesn’t say promising. I really hope Ed gives him one more go
I’d be interested to know exactly when Cox realised he could hurt Ryder, because to me it didn’t look like he managed it at any point?
Maybe he landed a punch on him 6 years ago during a sparring session? :maybe:

I didn't see him hurt Ryder at any point in that fight. Ryder just took his time, let him come onto him and timed him with a nice shot.

Another one who we heard lots about from the gym was Frankie Gavin. World champion of the gym, could do amazing things. Bit different when there's another decent fighter in front of you in a real fight, not just pissing about in sparring.

I agree with one of the earlier posts, there's an element of delusion about people saying "I beat him in the gym", maybe Cox was just taking things far too seriously in gym spars when the other guys were just trying out moves and going through the motions to build up to a proper fight in the future. It's like saying you could play for United cos you beat Gary Neville in a kickabout in the garden.

Yeah, he took his time and still managed to take Cox out in about 4 minutes.

Based on that performance is Cox even an Area level fighter?

Gavin actually got some decent results though.

Levels above Cox.

There’s no one else at Matchroom for him to fight?
Parker at Sauerland
Lennox Clarke & the fella he’s fighting (mind block... trained by Hatton... Daryl) are probably around his level at the mo. Maybe Jermaine smyle could be next?!?

Yeah Jamie must be hacked off to the max! Is he annoyed with himself?

I suppose you get that one opportunity and once lapse of concentration or your brain tells you to do something it could have ramifications (ie getting floored)

On another Jamie could’ve won. But yeah congrats to Ryder as he’s a decent bloke.

I imagine Eddie is like any sales boss. If you don’t hit your target you’re out of there. Has golden balls Hearn stated whether Jamie gets another throw of the dice?

Ryder would win 10 times out of 10.

Cox did nothing to suggest that he might win.

Cox's team are talking about protesting the count.
I don't think they have a wobbly leg to stand on.
The rules say;
BBBoC Rule 3.32—‘a boxer is deemed to be ‘down’ by one of four criteria, one of which is ‘when the boxer is in the act of rising’,—so it is likely it will be argued that he was ‘counted out in the act of rising’,

Thoughts?
Was the count OK?

The count was administered to the letter of the law, they are wasting their time.
What's the best they can hope for by doing this?
That it changes from KO to TKO on the record?

They would be better off getting Jamie back in the gym and hassling Eddie to get him back out as soon as his supension is over.

He has a promoter with lots of dates who doesn't mind throwing a few mismatches on his cards, they should take full advantage of that fact.

A couple wins under his belt and he could well be in line for another proper fight, we see it all the time.
