I'd like Zhanat Zakanyov (sp) to enter..
He gave Burnett a good fight too.

Re: New WBSS tournaments
Rigondeaux was invited to join the bantamweight WBSS tournament, but turned it down as a doctor advised him not to cut that much weight.
Re: New WBSS tournaments
I'd love to see the JWW's have a tourney, or the WW's. ALso the HW's but unfortunately, won't happen.
Re: New WBSS tournaments
Same here. Judging by their last IG post, they were really bragging about having 4 fighters from the boxrec "Top 10". The only reason Zhanat isn't ranked (but is Top 15 in the IBF/WBO/WBC) is because he didn't have another fight since he lost the belt. But he absolutely deserves to be in the tournament.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑09 May 2018, 16:34 I'd like Zhanat Zakanyov (sp) to enter..

Re: New WBSS tournaments
The problem with their last tournament was they divided each fight into their own card. Makes the whole process tediously long and unattractive for TV networks to buy the rights. The whole thing only received coverage in Europe, and ITV didn't even cover the first round besides the UK fights.
They should have had 2 fights (one from each division) per card. The whole event would be shorter, and would save the event from scenarios where if one tournament collapses (like is happening to 168 where Groves might not make the finals).
3 tournaments is a little tricky now, but even having 3 headline fights per card makes sense. 2 does as well, If they structure it right. Make it that everyone HAS to see it. Otherwise, people are just going to ignore it like last time with the exception of the specific fighters they're interested in.
