Adrien Broner challenges Tim Bradley to meet him at 144lb catchweight

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Adrien ‘The Problem’ Broner (33-3-1, 24 KOs) called out former 2 division world champion Timothy ‘Desert Storm’ Bradley (33-2-1, 13 KOs) today to face him at a 144 pound catchweight. Broner must have his reasons for calling out a retired fighter like the 34-year-old Bradley, who hasn’t fought in 2 years since his 12 round unanimous decision defeat in his third fight against Manny Pacquiao in April 2016.

“Timothy Bradley, bring you [expletive] back and get this whipping…Meet me at 144,” Broner said on his Instagram.

Hope Bradley doesn't take that bait. Where he's at is already sealed and he can't gain anything except a paycheck for fighting Broner.

I think TimBrad is done from in-ring action. He seems very comfortable doing commentary for ESPN/Top Rank..

He took the Pacquiao fights, made a guaranteed $10m+ over the 3 fights.. Fought Marquez.. Had some good scraps. I always wanted to see Khan-Bradley when it was hot, but oh well. Bradley has done a Maidana.

Was always interested in Khan v Bradley myself :TU:

Maybe Khan v Broner could be made if he's not gonna fight Brook? Can't see Khan agreeing to a catch weight though.

He seems stuck. Can't make 140 without intense training or motivation and he knows he can't compete with the guys at 147.

He can't compete with the top guys at 140 either. Prograis would f*ck him up. Mikey Garcia already shut him out. Postol would beat him, hell I'll even bet Indongo would beat him.

Oh...and Tim would beat him too. He's already fought a guy similar to Tim at a catchweight of 144...Shawn Porter...and he lost.

Is Bradley not retired?

In any case Broner could make 140 no problem if he had any sort of dedication. He's too small to be fighting at 147 really and hasn't impressed at all at any weight above lightweight.

Dumbest call out ever. Bradley has been retired for two years and hasn’t fought so light in seven...

To me the most important aspect of it all is like I said "Who is Broner to be making demands for catchweights at this point?"

Hell if anything between the two of them Bradley is the bigger star I'd think. So if anybody should be calling the shots about how a fight goes should it happen it should be Tim.

Tim's fights with Pac and Marquez are bigger than anything Broner's ever been involved in.

I agree 100%. I always liked Bradley and when he retired he very strongly made the point about getting out with his faculties intact.

Broner hasn’t seen his name in print for five seconds so needed to make some pointless noise...

100% :TU:
Broner has very little chance at 140 or 147 to capture a title. Given his catch weight scenarios, he isn't even in contention at the moment.
I can understand fighters not giving a toss about belts, but not being tied to a weight class is taking the piss.

Interesting matchup.

Broner still brings money and definitely ratings.

Bradley probably still fancies himself as a bigger, stronger fighter and might very well be interested.

Broner must know something to suddenly call out Bradley.

Current Bradley would be a bad match up for Broner IMO.

I'd imagine he just figures that catchweight sh*t would give him an advantage, and wouldn't accept the fight without that stipulation intact.

Don't really know why he'd think it's such an advantage for him honestly.

Thus far he's 0-1-1 in these Catchweight bouts.

Supposedly in his newly acquired vocation as a boxing analyst, Bradley talked crap about Broner and ruffled his feathers.

So AB called him out.

You would think Broner would be pretty accustomed to people badmouthing him and he wouldn't even notice.

Arum just said some derogatory things about Broner too. Maybe AB will also issue him a challenge.

Any chance Bob can make a catchweight?
