Liam Williams vs Asinia Byfield
This fight has been put to purse bids for the vacant British Super welterweight title. Massive step up for Byfield but I really rate him and I'm excited to see how he deals with the more experienced Fighter. Williams obviously starts as favourite but if Byfield can frustrate him with his awkward movement and shots from all different angles I think he might be able to take this on points. In saying this it's still a big ask as Williams is a very good fighter. Really good fight though

Can’t see Williams taking this.
He’s above British level.

Who'd you want to see him in with? Who's the Euro champ at 154?

Hopefully he gets some fights that'll help him develop. The jump in class form his previous opponents to Smith was a little too much for him although he done pretty well. Smiths experience told in the end.PredatorHayds wrote: ↑11 May 2018, 08:59Fringe world level guys.
European champ is Zakaria Attou of France. I would favour Williams to beat him.
I like Williams. He's got potential.

Byfield is the tall very rangy guy with an 'unorthodox'/awkward style, isn't he? switch hitting, all arm-y punches and long limbs and herky-jerky movement?
I get the feeling his 'unorthodoxy' will be seen in the light of its flaws against a solid box-fighter type like Williams.

That's him mate. Ive only seen him once that I can remember. Exposing Sam McNess and stopping him on a BN card. He looked good that night actually.Counter-puncher wrote: ↑11 May 2018, 09:17 Byfield is the tall very rangy guy with an 'unorthodox'/awkward style, isn't he? switch hitting, all arm-y punches and long limbs and herky-jerky movement?

Been a sore couple of years for Williams. He was riding high after Corcoran. This would be a good learning fight for him. I think he'd pressure Byfield too much.
Williams just entering his prime & needs to crack on.

Re: Liam Williams vs Asinia Byfield
Could well be too soon this for Byfield, who's best win was against a 7-0 McNess.
Byfield has had a number of other prospects drop out of/duck eliminators against him (Metcalfe being the latest), and gets "rewarded" with a shot against Williams.
It's hard to see Williams crumble the way McNess did.

Re: Liam Williams vs Asinia Byfield
I know what you mean mate it's not much of a reward being avoided by certain fighters only to come up against Williams who himself probably feels above British level. there not far off each other in terms of fights and the only person on Williams record who beats Byfield for me is Smith and although it was controversial the first time he beat Williams as well. I think it's a really good fight if it happensmagnus wrote: ↑11 May 2018, 13:54 Could well be too soon this for Byfield, who's best win was against a 7-0 McNess.

Someone had mentioned on another thread that he's got an MMA fight coming up. Pity as I was looking forward to seeing someone spark him in the boxing ring.smiling assassin wrote: ↑11 May 2018, 13:03Has that penis boxed again since then or did he realise he was shjt and go back to cage fightingStuarty wrote: ↑11 May 2018, 10:07Can't mind mate.
