They should fight in Switzerland, just saying...
AJ refuses to fight outside UK---turns down $50 million guarantee with no cap !
Re: AJ refuses to fight outside UK---turns down $50 million guarantee with no cap !
Considering that he makes 20 Million plus per fight fighting in the U.K., and Wilder has yet to make above 2.5 or 3 Mil or something like that...why would he fight outside of the U.K?
Hell if I were Wilder I'd be eager to be wrapping up my association with Haymon, and get my ass over to the U.K. to get in on them sweet 8 figure paydays.

There was no real guarantee, just publicity stunt.

I'm sure AJ wants to fight in the US to buid his profile and his legacy, but he's in no hurry. It would certainly make sense to fight someone a little less dangerous than Deontay as a first excursion.
Hearn said AJ was reluctant to deprive his loyal supporters the chance to be there for his biggest fight, and that might be a genuine concern for him, or it it might be a load of old flannel, I guess how you take that depends on whether you believe his nice guy persona is fabricated or real.
AJ is making so much money that the extra he can make in Vegas probably is less important to him than facing his greatest challenge this side of the horizon in the place where he feels most comfortable boxing.
Besides Wilder presents a daunting enough challenge for any heavyweight. If you were Joshua would you want to fight in Vegas with all the controversy associated with the place?

Great points and I cant argue with anything you say. I think AJ's less-than-impressive performance against Parker may have changed his mind about fighting away from home any time soon.SenorPipino wrote: ↑11 May 2018, 09:03 What about all that talk a few months back about Joshua eager to come to USA and take on Big Baby at Barclay's?
Is that still on the table?.
Or is it just Wilder that Joshua doesn't want to fight in the states?
Or was it just Hearn blowing typical promoter hot air and there's never been any intention to remove Joshua from his native soil?
Re: AJ refuses to fight outside UK---turns down $50 million guarantee with no cap !
When? The offer wasn't legit last I read.tiny_acres wrote: ↑11 May 2018, 08:53It appears from the statements from both Hearn and Joshua that they consider the offer very serious.jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑11 May 2018, 08:43 It's really easy to make big sounding offers, but were there actual guarantees in place?
Hearn admits the money is in America
Joshua stated he's not selling his belts.
The offer as astronomical as it appears. Seems to be legit.
Now the ball is in team Joshua's court. They need to come back with a legit percentage offer to Wilder or they will look very bad in the eyes of the public.

I'm tired of all this nonsense between these two camps.
If AJ's side doesn't want or trust Wilder camp's shaky offer of $50 mill, the best option is to just announce another fight with someone else and ignore this fiasco. Keep it moving. Didn't Hearn say he wants an AJ-Miller fight in the US?

All these US and UK preciouses only want to fight in their very own country with their very own bought and paid for refs and judges and drug testers/fixers and cheering section!

THAT is most agreeable. I try not to pay any mind to the ramblings of promoters/managers/fighters unless the fight is made.DA1 wrote: ↑11 May 2018, 22:09 I'm tired of all this nonsense between these two camps.

AJ v Wilder - September - Wembley Stadium. That’s my bet anyway.

Boxing is all about the money. . . . .No one in the world would turn down $50 million just to make another appearance in front of his home fans,. . . .Geez, go get the money, win the fight and then go back to your adoring fans.
Re: AJ refuses to fight outside UK---turns down $50 million guarantee with no cap !
AJ can make 20 mill fighting his mom . in the UK , if he gets screwed in Vegas which is a BIG POSSIBILITY , then his earnings go down , . He has that much money the extra 20-30 mill he makes is not has important has his home town advantage and , the endless 20 mill paydays he will still recieve in the UK ,, Makes perfect sence to insist on the Wilder fight at Wembley then go fight Miller in the states and build his profile .
And thats always assuming the money is there , after all if they have that kind of money , why is Wilder fighting for 2 milliion a fight , It was a stupid offer , sign by monday without seeing a contract or the money , Publicity stunt
Re: AJ refuses to fight outside UK---turns down $50 million guarantee with no cap !
If it were all about the money I'd agree, but greatness requires risk. Pride calls for this fight, or at least it should, no matter the location. If AJ wants to be the best, he needs to make this fight.coneye wrote: ↑12 May 2018, 22:27AJ can make 20 mill fighting his mom . in the UK , if he gets screwed in Vegas which is a BIG POSSIBILITY , then his earnings go down , .
