De La Hoya Baits GGG: "Canelo Makes $40 Million Without You!"
Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya, who promotes Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (49-1-2, 34 KOs), took to social media to bait IBF, IBO, WBA, WBC middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (38-0-1, 34 KOs).
De La Hoya is already starting the verbal barbs - warning Golovkin that Canelo can make a huge pay day with or without the rematch.
"In the mean time, Golovkin is making 3 million and Canelo is making 40 million without you. Sign the contract, [you're] scared, stop crying," De La Hoya stated on social media.
De La Hoya was likely annoyed, that Golovkin stated in a recent interview that he's only placing a "10 percent" probability on the rematch coming together for the fall - because this time around GGG is not willing to make the bulk of the concessions.
“I would say it’s about a 10 percent probability at this point that it happens,” Golovkin told Yahoo Sports. “I would say only about 10 percent that it happens.”
“I think 10 percent is high; it’s bigger than it should be. I made 99 percent of the concessions for the fight with Canelo on May 5. Ninety-nine percent of them were by me, and now he’s the one not here.”

..financial considerations aside, I hope Oscar realises that he's got damaged goods on his hands and that legacy wise, Canelo under the circumstances might need GGG more than the other way around..

Oscar is needing his bare arse skelped with a spatula again! I bet that Ryan Garcia is his gimp!
Re: De La Hoya Baits GGG: "Canelo Makes $40 Million Without You!"
So GGG likely isn't fighting Canelo or Saunders. Yawn.
Re: De La Hoya Baits GGG: "Canelo Makes $40 Million Without You!"
I seriously hope GGG fights the prick and beats sevens shades of shít right outta him!

Yeah completely agree mate.tiny_acres wrote: ↑12 May 2018, 09:46I would love for GGG to make the big payday.
He deserves it.
But I'd be happy as hell to see Oscar miss out on anymore big paydays.

Oscar's right, even if he might be exaggerating to make his point.
While there may not be any $40 million fights for Canelo currently, he should have no problem raking in $15 million + for ordinary PPV fights.
Meanwhile Golovkin fights for $1 million (Adrien Broner wages). Maybe he collects $3-$6 million in future bouts, but Golovkin has proven that he's no PPV attraction without Canelo's help.
And Loeffler and Golovkin sure as shit know that, which is why they'll be lining up for the September rematch with Canelo, despite their posturing.

Golovkin should let Clenbnelo stick his millions into his a$$ and fight Derevo, BJS, Murata, Charlo sealing his legacy.
Re: De La Hoya Baits GGG: "Canelo Makes $40 Million Without You!"
Yes he's right in terms of finance but a vast majority of unbiased fans know that Golovkin beat him and I'd like to think that will bother Canelo, and that he'd want to show he's not a lesser fighter than GGG.SenorPipino wrote: ↑12 May 2018, 11:41 Oscar's right, even if he might be exaggerating to make his point.

This is what I don't like about boxing. Greed. Keeps us from seeing best v. best, etc. Back in the day you had to fight the best. Not the most, but the best.

"Golden Ploy" Up to his old tricks. Wish he would go away. Money v. Integrity: Money always won with ODH.

Leave Oscar alone. You know between the cocaine the drinking. The fishnet stockings the kitchen utensils up his butt. He's become the poster boy for this generation.

WBC have now removed Canelo from rankings as he has apparently refused to take part in the 365 program. Only vague reports online so far.

Remember Canelo vs JCC Jr?
Canelo vs Munguia will be the next one. DLH found their next star after that mismatch of a fight last night.
The "Golden Boy" Munguia vs the "Maybe he's dirty" Canelo is a great storyline for the Mexican public.
