biggest size differneces in non hw fights

Post by jamamb »

sadam ali just got butchered by jamie munguia

it has to be one of the most absurd size differences ive ever seen in a non hw high level fight. munguia was several inches taller and looked twice as thick. he is a huge 154 fighter while ali fought at 132 in the olympics and is really an average sized welter at best. basically munguia looked like a giant.

when picturs/vids come up ill post

ANYWAY: what fights do you recall, particularly not low level club fights, with massive size differences

Gatti vs Gamache, there was talk that the scales were tampered with, Gatti official weight was 141, by fight time it was allegedly 160lbs against 140lbs for Gamache. The fight ended in a massive KO loss for Gamache and brain damage.

Recently I thought that Garcia dude whomFrampton fought a fight or so ago looked a couple of divisions above Carl.

Also recently watched Napoles v Monzon and there looked to be a massive difference there. I think Napoles was coming up from Welter at the time?

Hearns looked much much bigger than Leonard in the rematch despite all the weight Ray made him drop.

McAuley Matala was a big difference, not just height.

Some good calls here, I'd add Cory Spinks vs Zab Judah (I think the second one); Judah put on a couple of pounds & Spinks was a super-middle by fight-time.

I read Paul Williams weighed the same for one of his welterweight title fights.

Depending on what you believe, the rematch between McClellan and Jackson, Jackson said himself he trained so hard his weight dropped below 154. McClellan was alleged to have weighed more than 185 come fight night.

Surely there's been some Cruiserweight fights that look like small Heavy's in with big Light Heavy's?

Williams and Margarito must be two of the biggest welterweights ever to share a ring

Don’t ask me how or why I stumbled upon this match up, but Dingaan Thobela faced an Argentinian boxer called Adrian Walter Daneff for an IBO title at welterweight.
Thobela “tipped” the scales at 75.7kgs, his opponent was 65.8kgs, Thobela stopped him.

Surprised by no mention of Henry Armstrong, was the Welterweight and Featherweight champion at the same time.
