can loma get better?

seen some ppl say last fght could be learnng experience for loma. and he only does have 12 pro fghts. though he has loads of am experence of course and a number of the pro bouts were vs good opponents.

do you beleve hes stll getting better or has loma finished development?

on the other hand. some guy here clamed that after 1 fght and 3 pro rounds loma was already at his peak. now that seems a lttle extreme to me

I don't really see how he could get much better, but frankly he doesn't need to. He's about as good a fighter as one could possibly imagine at the moment.

He's already 30 and if he is going to learn, he better do it fast. The only thing I see is that he (and maybe learned over the weekend) that the more he steps up competition, the more he needs to work harder in training and keep single minded in the ring.

Yes he can get better. He's adaptable but tries to force the action and please the fans. If he does this against Garcia it could be a mistake but it's still early days in his pro career. He's fresh and has plenty miles left on the clock. You can't fault the guys attitude. He's willing to take on anyone and go up through the weights to do it!

Some folk are making too big a deal over him being knocked down. He got caught with a good shot from a very good fighter. He dusted himself off and stuck to the task like a seasoned campaigner. He'd have been kicking himself for getting caught no doubt and that will serve as a lesson.

I can absolutely see him gaining more experience and getting better because of it. He is probably done growing as far as technical skills are concerned. But, the pros are different from the AMs. And I'm sure Loma gained some necessary experience when he faced Salido. And I'm sure he gained some experience while fighting a larger, more experienced champion in Linares. So, yes, he can get better.

The reason it is stepped competition is because they are opponents who are larger than him not more skilled than him. He could stay in his natural weight class and dominate for a 3 years or go out and create greater challenges for himself and that is what he is doing. Yes he can improve a lot even though 30 years old.

No doubt, but at 30 it's more difficult. He only needs to be reminded by his handlers that the tougher opponents are just that...tougher! He has to be more disciplined in the gym and the ring and manage his expectations. He's not small at feather nor JLW, so a lot is dependent upon which weight class. I would keep him at LW or go back down. I'd rather see him against Berchelt at SFW.

Depends what is meant by "better". Yeah, he can learn some new tricks/tactics, but on the other hand his style requires high endurance and reflexes. Only a matter of time before he starts slowing down, but I'm not so sure he wants to be in boxing that long, which is why he's fast tracked his career. Accomplish the most in the shortest amount of time as possible then be finished with it.
