On Amazon, I just bought John Och's massive three-volume biography of the truly great all-around boxing man, Jack Hurley. Despite reading so many rave reviews of this biography, I still wasn't prepared how great and massive it is. Of course, Hurley was an absolutely incredible character and a true master as a manager, trainer, cornerman, matchmaker and promoter. Although I still have not finished reading the biography, I will say that there isn't a better one of a boxing figure unless it is Steve Kompton's massive biography of Harry Greb.

Thanks for the recommendation, Chuck. Jack Hurley is Seattle's answer to Doc Kearns.
