Eddie Hearn Working On Tyron Zeuge vs. Rocky Fielding
For his part, Hearn revealed that Fielding “texts him most days” as he looks to push on with his career.
In an interview with talkSPORT last Saturday, Hearn said that efforts to make a world title fight for the Jamie Moore-trained fighter were ongoing.
He said: “That’s a classic example of someone who is there or there about. He’s ranked top-10 with every governing body and boxed earlier this year in a tick-over fight.”
It was thought that Fielding would get the fight with WBO super-middleweight champion Gilberto Ramirez after terms were agreed for the former British and Commonwealth ruler to head to the States for his big opportunity.
But it was then revealed that ‘Zurdo’ would defend his belt on June 30 against Roamer Alexis Angulo at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City.
Angulo reportedly took the fight for less money than Fielding, which left the ex-Prizefighter winner in limbo and back in the queue of fighters waiting to find out what’s next.
A final eliminator for James DeGale’s IBF title against Caleb Plant has been ordered, but Rocky is more interested in a shot at Tyron Zeuge, the WBA ‘regular’ titlist.
“We’re trying to get the fight with Zeuge at the moment,” Hearn added. “But I spoke with DeGale the other day and he quite fancies going to Liverpool and fighting Rocky.
“Fielding’s another guy who’s just waiting now, but he will be in a big fight in July wherever he is because he’s done enough and is ranked highly enough to get that big shot.”

Re: Eddie Hearn Working On Tyron Zeuge vs. Rocky Fielding
Easy way to capture a 'world title'..
He should fight Plant and become mandatory for DeGale. Like Hearn said, DeGale is up for that. God knows when the IBF are going to order Uzcategui vs DeGale.
Plus, you can't unify with a 'regular' belt unless there is no 'super' champion (GGroves)..
Still a decent matchup though. Hearn tried Paul Smith in Germany, he couldn't do it. Next up.. Fielding

But why would Fielding want to do that when he can fight Zeuge for the WBA Regular?Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑14 May 2018, 16:14He should fight Plant and become mandatory for DeGale. Like Hearn said, DeGale is up for that. God knows when the IBF are going to order Uzcategui vs DeGale.
This seems like the better path.

Winnable fight for Rocky. Along with Ryder he strikes me as someone who isn't "in" with Hearn as much as some others and as a result gets overlooked a bit on terms of getting him fights consistently.
Re: Eddie Hearn Working On Tyron Zeuge vs. Rocky Fielding
Zegue vs Fielding would be a perfect showcase of how irrelevant some ‘world titles’ have become.
If we had one world title it wouldn’t be a worthy European fight.

Re: Eddie Hearn Working On Tyron Zeuge vs. Rocky Fielding
One of Ryder and Rocky gets Zeuge, the other gets Degale it sounds like, Zeuge's choice probably.
Re: Eddie Hearn Working On Tyron Zeuge vs. Rocky Fielding
WBA 'regular' title aside, it is a relatively well matched fight between a decent boxer with little power vs a poor boxer with decent power.
It should be quite competetive, which is more than can be said about a lot of fights we get to see.

Ryder deserves the shot more than Fielding.

Re: Eddie Hearn Working On Tyron Zeuge vs. Rocky Fielding
A deal has been agreed to for a final elimination fight between super middleweights Caleb Plant (17-0, 10 KOs), 25, of Las Vegas, and Rocky Fielding (26-1, 14 KOs), 30, of England. The fight was scheduled to go to a purse bid on Tuesday but the camps notified the IBF on Monday that a deal was reached and the IBF notified all of its registered promoters that the purse bid has been canceled. The camps told the IBF the fight would take place on July 28 in Los Angeles, meaning it would be on the undercard of the lightweight world title unification fight between Mikey Garcia and Robert Easter Jr. that is being finalized as a Showtime main event on that date at the Staples Center. The Plant-Fielding winner would become the mandatory challenger for titlist James DeGale (24-2-1, 14 KOs), who first has an obligation to fight interim titlist Jose Uzcategui (27-2, 23 KOs).

Re: Eddie Hearn Working On Tyron Zeuge vs. Rocky Fielding
obviously neither absolutely scream 'get this guy a title shot', but in todays environment i think theyd both be perfectly acceptable.
both better then 3 of zurdos last 4, both arguably better then anyone zeague has fought, both better then the guy benavidez just fought twice, and both imo rate higher then truax did when he got the first degale fight
uk is pretty stacked at 168 so not being in the very top couple isnt such a big deal when you look at who the fighters ahead are. groves is world number 1 in most rankings i see and smith, degale, and even still eubank are in a lot of top 10s. they might all be better then zeague, who really has only fought at ebu level
Re: Eddie Hearn Working On Tyron Zeuge vs. Rocky Fielding
but with this news about plant, im not sure thats the right path. plant i think may actually be better then zeague and theres no belt on the line.

Don't rate fielding at all. Zeuge's not great but he's a lot better than fielding

Re: Eddie Hearn Working On Tyron Zeuge vs. Rocky Fielding
If Rocky wins we can look forward to a local Derby with Smigga?
Re: Eddie Hearn Working On Tyron Zeuge vs. Rocky Fielding
I was wondering that mate, as far as I know Jamie taking over was intended to be temporary while Oliver had treatment for 'health problems' heard nothing since.sweetscience wrote: ↑16 May 2018, 06:32 what has happened to Oliver Harrison

Hope he's on the mend.

Tyron Zeuge vs. Rocky Fielding Showdown in Play
BS.com understands that Rocky Fielding will challenge WBA super middleweight world title holder Tyron Zeuge this summer.
Fielding, ranked number four by the organisation, has been itching for a crack at Zeuge for some time and now it seems like he has landed his opportunity.
Thirty-year-old Fielding, who holds a ledger of (26-1, 14 KOs), had also been linked to a fight against IBF champion James DeGale, as well as a final eliminator against Caleb Plant.
WBA Super champion George Groves will defend his crown against Callum Smith in the World Boxing Super Series final on a date to be confirmed.
Fielding has bounced back impressively since losing to Smith in one round back in 2015. 'Rocky' has notched up five wins since, including victories over Christopher Rebrasse and John Ryder a Matchroom stable-mate of Fielding's.
Ryder, ranked three with the WBA, would no doubt have been in the running for a fight against Zeuge too, The 29-year-old has also been linked to a fight against Chris Eubank Jr. on the undercard of Groves vs. Smith.
Zeuge (22-0-1, 12 KOs) picked up the WBA strap when defeating Giovanni De Carolis second time around in 2016. The 26-year-old German has since gone on to defend his title three times including two wins over Isaac Ekpo and Fielding's fellow Liverpudlian Paul Smith.
Zeuge vs. Fielding could be confirmed later today (June 11).
