The Stevenson-Badou bout goes on after Russell-Diaz, so it figures to start between 8 and 8:30 Pacific time.

I think that makes it after 4 am in the UK. Set those alarms.

• Felt Jack won that clear although I didn’t score it. Boxed intelligently and definitely had the better success. Hurting Stevenson a lot without ever really looking like grabbing a stoppage. Kept the pressure on well in the second fight after using his movement well early.
• Stevenson did well to find a second wind but should definitely have been warned for holding. Hurt Jack big to the body who did really well to stay up on his feet.
• Ian John Lewis did great to push for the action to continue after Jack punched him straight in the face. Assume his nose went considering the blood on his face but that could have been from Stevenson. Wasn’t picked up on commentary.
• Highlight of the fight
Smith “ who’s going to win?”
- brief pause
Macklin “it could come down...”
Smith interrupting excitedly “the great thing is no one can answer me!!!”
Or something like that

you should really score round by round if your gonna say a guy won clear, because fights are done on rounds and not one general feel

it was very close and draw or close either way was fair. jack did great in the middle but started pretty dang slow and got hurt late. round by round cant see how he won clear at all.same type of thing for other jack fights where he may feel like he deserved it overall because he wins his rounds bigger, but breaking it down he actually loses quite a few of the quieter rounds not doing much. he has so many draws and splits etc because he doesnt really step it up to go much beyond his opponents

btw felt sky was biased to jack, they gave him the first 2 rounds where he did nothing and hardly said a word when he was quite visibly hurt to the body late on

its true though when you deal with a fighter who wins rounds big but loses a lot quieter rounds. this is who jack is, vs stevenson, degale, groves, periban, etc

jack has big memorable moments and good stretches where he beats up his opponents, but there are also several rounds where hes very quiet and repeatedly getting edged, which this time was mostly first half..he easily couldve been down 5-1 after 6 and i thought couldve also lost 10 and 11

i just cant see how he clearly won more rounds, even if he did win his rounds bigger. ive seen a lot of ppl score even or for adonis and i cant say that i think thats poor

Jack won by 2 rounds on my card. The draw was the obvious result though, particularly considering the undercard judging.

Can certainly see why Stevenson has never been allowed anywhere near Kovalev, he’d get absolutely mullered.

and ill say thats the one thing that really makes a me not as excited about jack asi could be, he just doesnt fight enough in his matches or turn it up enough. hes like a 6 or 7 round round fighter who doesnt finish opponents. very effective when hes working and in the zone but he just switches off (or starts switched off) and cant get past a certain gear even when hes on

this holds him back from being excellent rather then just very good. with all the rounds he gave away early he put himself in a whole and adonis had just enough second half success to draw or win close

i had adonis just shading it, after a good first half he looked set to lose during some torrid middle moments , but jack couldnt finish it and then adonis defo hurt jack in the 10th and won the 11th too for me. but draw was fair and i can see jack close too

The 11th was close and it was a one of the crucial rounds. A draw sounds pretty fair indeed. I won't be against the rematch, we should wait and see. how it will go with WBC's decisions on who deserves a shot.

Yeah it’s not a robbery whichever way you look at it, I had Jack close but wouldn’t have argued with Stevenson close or a draw verdict. Couldn’t believe how vulnerable Jack looked to the body.

But interestingly, not one judge gave it to Adonis, despite him being the home fighter

ya and warrngton only won a sd despite clearly beatng selby in leeds.

adons also pretty much shut out bika (2 rounds top for sb to me) at home yet somehow the judges had that reasobably close (7-5 and 8-4). guess sometmes that stuff happens. cant always rely on generous home judgng .

I had it 115-113 Jack.
Close fight. Can’t argue with the draw.
Sky commentary was awful. No idea how they gave Jack the first two rounds.
IJL took that shot like a boss.

There's more action on this thread than there was in the fight. Just saying...
