I think Horse is overly sensitive and emotional. Why is that? Hmmm...Unbelievable! (?) :maybe:

Not a good enough opponent for you?

Unbelievable.
At this stage in his development I'd say rounds is about the only thing Joyce REALLY needs. You don't throw him to the wolves too early, and Duhaupas is still no worse than Top 20 overall so he's certainly a stiff test for a guy that's this early in his career.

He's too good.

I've already shown in a previous post how relatively crap Joyce's opponents have been until now.

There is rarely a justifiable reason that a fighter should jump several levels in one fight.

Joyce should be looking to fight a lower top 100ish opponent in his next fight, not a top 20/30 opponent.

I'd pretty much agree with that.

Maybe a Top 50 guy would be acceptable, but Top 20 in only your 5th pro contest is a bit much.

He'd probably be able to beat a top 50 opponent, but why take the chance?

If he's fighting every month or two then why is there any need to skip levels?

Some people might think my approach to matchmaking is a bit boring, but I enjoy the journey and don't particularly enjoy skipping to the end.

It's clearly better for a fighter to go through the levels and not skip anything, so why are so many people so in love with the idea of throwing prospects in the deep end?

I don't know, but you definitely see it a lot on the forum lately.

A prospect gets a good win, and people are going "Devin Haney vs Lomachenko...how do you see it going"...it's like WHOA slow down. Let the guy get there first.

It's basic story telling to show a fighter going through the levels and making adjustments if they struggle etc, but these people seem to just want to rush to the end and see them thrown violently into a world title fight and then demand that they retire if they lose.

They're a bunch of fecking weirdos as far as I'm concerned.

Boxing fans jump the gun too much these days certainly. Both in rushing guys to the top, and calling for their career demise when they lose once or twice.

He has made a name being a punching bag against big names and after each loss he has to drop down a level so I think he might be appropriate now.

He is very tough so should extend Joyce a few rounds and will give us a good gauge of how he compares to the top guys.

For the same reasons I'd suggest Wach also.
Dauhapas would provide rounds but not a lot of 'learning' opportunities.
why not? durable, good enough to beat helenius and charr at euro level, shut wilders eye

if anything hed give joyce too much of a lesson at this stage

Ah, some detail...I just think that Joyce can get some 'learning' done as well as rounds from a less powerful and more skilled journyman. He still has some learning to do. Just the jump from amateur to pro takes more than a few fights, with exceptions of course, but not Joyce. That is all. Thanks!

I wouldn't at all be surprised to see Bellew going to for Charr's "regular" title.
100%.... i could see him and hearn selling it as a legit world title bout for ppv...

Kabayal would plow him. IMHO.
Really ?!
Interested to hear why you think that...?

Kabayal has the pro experience over Joyce; He's a real good boxer/puncher the likes which (Captain Obvious here ) Joyce hasn't seen as a pro. Making the jump from Amateur to pro (with exceptions) is not a 4 or 5 bout event. Joyce is in a odd circumstance given his age and pro experience. After a couple or three more fights, Joyce could prove me wrong, but as it stands now? I stick by my comments.

Fair enough points - I just don't see JJ getting beat @ Euro level even now.

Thanks. Maybe one day we'll see for sure. Joyce could play "catch-up" if he gets real busy.
