Anthony Yarde's Suspension

Post by Taansend »

I was watching the little documentary on Anthony Yarde and then having a butchers at his record when I noticed that he received a 7 day suspension after his win in Texas.
'
Is this just a Texas precautionary thing for all fighters?

I know. I referred to that in my post. I'm asking what it's for.

I've never noticed that before, just looked at the records of a couple US based fighters and it seems the commissions over there give out short suspensions ( a week or two at a time) like they're going out of fashion.

It's not a bad suspension, as if the fighters have done something bad. Someone here should know.

Maybe it's new on Boxrec. My guess is it's just that you can't fight twice in a week

Very often athletic commissions will give a fighter a 1-2 week "suspension" which is supposed to also restrict training (usually doesnt matter in that aspect though) in an effort to make a fighter who just had a bout have a rest and recover. Next time you see a high level bout with decent action, check the next day to see if those fighters received a recovery suspension.

On Lomachenkos page it says he has an indefinite suspension then updated to June 11th (although they keep the original 'indefinite' part up there)
