Nobody cares about him selling tickets at the Echo Arena. Barely anyone knows his and everyone knows who AJ is.

To be fair, hes done what many boxers couldnt at the echo and hes only starting out. If Till beats Stephen Thompson this weekend, (and personally I don't think he has a prayer) then he will become a huge name. Thompson is 4/7 to win and I think that's a bargain but I expect scouser money to come on till and Thompson might end up close to evens.

As I said on another thread the demand for tickets isn’t purely down to Till. The UFC near always sells well in the U.K. (usually at least 15k at the O2/Manchester Arena) regardless of the main event plus it’s the first time they’ve come to Liverpool. There are a lot people (myself included) who just go to every card whenever the UFC comes over. Given the Echo is only set up for 9k, even if Till wasn’t on the card I’d have expected it to sell out quickly.

the ufc is an event as a whole, they can take it around the world and sell well without big time local draws, there is a ufc brand in a way there isnt in boxing. pbc tried to build one but didnt catch on nearly as much

Ive never heard of either of them. A huge name is debatable and I'm not being argumentitive. Most sports fans/people have heard of Royce Gracie and Connor McGregor and thats it.

Someone else said using street fighting as a marker is embarrassing and it is. Very.

I'll tell you now, I could beat anyone in a street fight. I'd sneak up behind them, smash a bottle over the back of the head and then bite their ear and rip and pull until it came off. If that didn't win it for me I would bite their nose off and kick them on the floor until they don't move anymore.

I'm not even that hard but I'd make sure I would win.

Then the day after some pudendum does the same to me.

MMA is MMA, boxing is boxing and street fighting is street fighting.

I would rather be AJ than Till.

Till claims he would choke Joshua out.

Short clip.

Wrong. Till walks around at over 200lbs. He fights at 170lbs. Big difference.

Personally, I think he would choke the life out of Joshua. He is a super talented fighter.

I think comparing combat fighters in mythical matches is harmless.

Not true at all. Froch walked around at no more than 170lbs. Till walks around at approximately 210lbs. Huge difference.

Froch walked around at over 180. He always stayed close to fighting weight but not within 2lbs!

Not what Rob McCracken told me prior to the Pascal fight. Literally a natural super-middleweight who always kept himself in shape. A naturally lean lad. It helped that he was also tee-total.

Edit: just seen interesting article on the subject: http://www.seensportmagazine.com/carl-froch/

My point remains. 13 stone is 182 lbs. Till walks around at 210lbs. Big difference. They arent similar sizes in reality.

Really? You don't think Till has a prayer vs Thompson?
To each their own mate. Me? I think Till will stop him in about the 3rd round.

They actually don’t. Nowhere near as many as you seem to think. A certain demographic, that’s it. He’s no Frank Bruno.

Who actually thinks that a bloke his size is going to be able to single leg AJ when AJ is hammering the fornicate out of his skull with elbows etc?

This clown isn't even a wrestler, he just dies MMA and for sure there is no way he could double leg him he wouldn't have arms long enough.

It's quite pathetic to think MMA fighters and fans a like can act as if MMA is a street fight.

Ffs have you seen the amount of MMA clowns that complain about a little poke in the eye?

Who is to say he does get a single but AJ holds his head and slams him in to the concrete?

The street has no give, going to the ground is dangerous. Eddie would probably lay a sweet kick to his head on the ground too.

In boxing terms of who they've fought, it's like Yarde fighting Kovalev. That's the step up in levels based off who they've fought. Thompson is proven and Till has fought nobody really. It says a lot that even with the hype behind Till and that it's happening in Liverpool, Thompson is still 4/7. He is lethal with his kicks and I think he just controls the distance and wins the first 3/4 rounds easy. I think Till gets desperate in the last two rounds and gets caught with some spinning kick which lays him out. Till has to fight a very very aggressive fight to win. I don't think he can be competitive whatsoever at range.

D'you know, for a second I thought that's who they were talking about!

I was like "Fvck me mush, Laurent Boudouani was too much of a straight puncher for you & that was twenty odd years ago!"

Then I realised my mistake.

However, this thread does raise an important point: as we're now speculating in the realms of the fantastical, could this Till fella beat Joshua in a sabre duel?

& what about lightsabres? Would Joshua's extra weight tell if this Till fella cut his legs off, thus making his chin easier to reach?

What if the light sabre duel rules were that they had to hop on one leg and actually take it in turns to strike each other? Like those slapping contests. That would make the coin toss the most vital aspect of the whole contest. How does Till like to call? Is he a heads man or tails man? Who decides who flips the coin first? That's another major factor that can't be ignored.
I mean surely Till can't dedicate that much time to tossing? Not when he regularly walks around at 210lbs and has to lose 40lbs to fight?
There is a lot to take into consideration here. We could do with a WeeShaw poll to be honest.

It's kinda like Jan Ove Waldner saying to Roger Rederer that he would beat him at table tennis.

Judging from Frochy's eye-makeup, he was on his way to a "Hottest Goth" photoshoot.

Just because someone isn't a NCAA champion or because they might not use it alot in MMA does not mean that they can not wrestle?

Seriously, some proper mongs on here. GSP never wrestled in his life and was the best MMA wrestler in the UFC. Outwrestling Olympians, but I guess AJ would do him too on cobbles like, LOL!

Till will have hundreds of takedowns in his arsenal. Even strikers who don't look to go to the ground are training them at least twice a week with top level grapplers, because guess what if you want to learn how to defend something you need to know how to do it in the first place  .

Go to a BJJ class and see how useful your punches are when you are on the floor.
