Nobuhiro Ishida fought as a light middleweight from 2000 to 2012. He then had 3 fights at middleweight. Before, in 2014, jumping from middleweight to heavyweight in one fight.

Between Aug 2013 and April 2014 Ishida went from 160 pounds to 206.5 pounds.

Appearantly he gained over a 100 pound in less then 6 months and right after that lost over 60 pounds in less then 26 days!

Does any of you know more pro boxers like this? Who can gain or/and lose so much weight in such a short time?

Even half that amount of pounds (50 pounds in 6 months and 30 pounds in 26 days) sounds like mission impossible for me.
 A near 200 pound weight fluctuation in an 8 month period. What was happening in that man's life?

That boy starting eating good :OhYes: the more shocking thing that I see upon looking at his record- is that Liakovich is still fighting...

Deontay Wilder once faced a journeyman called Damon McCreary, who started his career weighing as little as 166lbs, faced ‘The Bronze Bomber’ at 262¼lbs and has weighed as much as 272½lbs.

This gentleman is very short for a heavyweight, with his height being 5′ 11″, which means that Deontay Wilder was pitted against an inactive middle-aged (39 year old) morbidly obese opponent that had a dangerously high BMI of 36.5.

It amazes me how anyone that out of shape can even get a licence to box professionally.

Seems like a typo (should be 206 1/4 not 306 1/4).. even if it was, he gained a decent amount after the fight.

You’re right, it is a typo! No human being can possibly gain 103½lbs and then immediately drop 90¼lbs over the course of eight months!

the guy he fought in the fight wheres hes listed at 306 has some big flucuations too

http://boxrec.com/en/boxer/731906

77 pounds in 2 months to start his career. seems off too. for that youd have to be absolutely stuffing yourself nonstop to gain over a pound a day

Alonzo Butler comes to mind for me.

He began his pro career at 212 lbs against Phil Jackson on February 24, 1989. Then he fought Riddick "Big Daddy" Bowe in only his 2nd pro fight, at 202 lbs on March 6th, 1989. Then in one of his last career fights, he had ballooned all the way up to 292 lbs while fighting Dan Ward on August 30th, 2003.

He would make a comeback 6 years later against Andre Purlette, dropping down to 259 lbs on September 9th, 2009 ( 09-09-09, ha ha ). but then made it all the back to 290 lbs by his last career fight on June 12th, 2010, against Damian Wills.

I always liked Butler, he was a banger with good power. Always gave you exciting fights. But WOW could he gain weight!

Chauncy Welliver comes to mind for me.

Always moving back and forth between 255 and 285, then getting in better shape to stay around 230-235 only to balloon up to (legit) 352 two years ago.

Edit: Just saw that he has a fight scheduled. Any guesses about the weight?

On the subject of Welliver, when he fought Marselles Brown they both weighed 352.75 pounds, surely it must be in the running to be one of the highest combined weights ever?

Bit of a cliché if you're a hardcore fan but surely there can't be anymore dramatic and more successful rise through the weights than Pacquiao. When you look at where he began to where he ended up!!! Most of us won't ever see that again in our lifetime.....

Can't remember the guys name but the guy Flanagan beat (on an injury) for the WBO lightweight strap seemed to fluctuate between weights quite a bit......

Tyson Fury needs to be on this thread. And yeah there's obviously some typos on Boxrec.

Chauncy Welliver is scheduled to fight in July after a two year absence from the ring. He used to post here.

He fought only once seven months ago. He's still listed as the top heavy in Belarus. I don't know what his story actually is but i got the impression there might be something mentally wrong with him - the way he deliberately stuck his jaw out so that Briggs could ko him in the last second of his won fight, and that after his corner was between rounds screaming in his face to just stay the hell away in the final round. And then when the judges robbed him in Phoenix vs Andy Ruiz he showed zero emotion.

A lot. Haha.

I started too high. I knew I had gained weight but didn't realize how much even after the last fight. I jumped on a scale and was amazed and started in with the weight/fat jokes on myself. Haha.

I decided I needed some motivation and started training. I'm so far down 30lbs.

I was offered a good bundle of money to have a fight at home by sponsors so figured, hell, might as well use this as a good chance to get healthy again.
In the meantime I will have a few small fights to shake off the rust and make sure my body can keep up with the dieting and lifting.
I'm not wanting to make a run of it as I have a family now but I do still have a little bit of fire burning to have a few smaller fights.

Best of luck to you, brother! I like your style, the quality of your introspection, your ability to laugh at yourself. I like that quality in people. It's an indicator of sanity.

Only one human. As the song went 'There's only one Ricky Hatton'. He looked like he used to do that sort of weight gain/loss twice a year.
