Possibly with Billy Joe.

Hard no with Tyson Fury. Tyson Fury is probably the most overrated "boxer" anywhere in the world right now. He won a staring contest, and suddenly he's a Heavyweight Willie Pep.

It wasn't just the Vlad fight, also in his previous fights v Chisora and Hammer, he barely took a punch in anger.

Gilgamesh's jabs aside, it's hard to think of a heavyweight with better defence than what Tyson has shown in his last four or five fights

BJS is Tyson was several years ago, he's out of the picture for now, and beating a CW outside of the CW top 50 will prove fcuk all.

I thought Tyson 2 1/2 years ago was much better than he was in 2011.

I think Khan is a very skilled boxer. It's hard to tell where he is at currently because his last fight was so short. But considering Tyson is not going to face much in the way of opposition for a while yet, my vote is for BJS and Khan right now. Maybe Tyson later on, maybe Joshua if he keeps improving will out class Tyson :maybe:

I think its Billy joe Saunders. Even more so since he linked up with ingle. He has hardly had a glove laid on him in last two fights. Munroe took zero risks and Lemieux made It pretty easy for a slickster like BJS by just constantly loading up but he couldn't have been more impressive from a skill set point of view.

I think Khans is more speed than boxing skill and generally he can be a caught up with. BJS is just the most fundamentally sound. That said, eubank gave him a good fight for the last 5-6 rounds, possibly more so than he did against Groves, who basically schooled eubank for the full 12 bar the last couple of minutes when he dislocated his shoulder. Groves himself has possibly proved the most adaptable stylewise.

Thought Skeete might have been up there until his last fight.

fury isnt a defensive genius but as said he hardlly got touched vs wlad, hammer, and in the chis rematch. id say defensively that version of fury is a better hit and not get hit boxer then any other hw today. although id think aj or wilder would eventually hit him and hit him hard

as of today though fury might not be anything close to what he was. well see hopefully

Fury adapted his style after those fights. Another bloke put him down and Firth wobbled him. But Fury improved his defence as a result

Billy Joe is the best technical boxer in the country imo.Not sure about Tyson though.

Id put Skeete,Groves,Frampton,Luke Campbell,Jamie Mcdonnell,De Gale,Hughie and id even be looking at Martin Ward and Andrew Selby as better technical boxers.

I know it is naturally Tysons game to box on the back foot hes been doing it since an amateur but hes only really added that to his pro style pretty recent to the Klitschko fight so I dont think that was the finished article in acheiving that style.Added to the fact hes no longer working with Peter who was the architect of changing Tyson anyway then im unsure what were going to see on Saturday.

as mentioned he clearly changed his style. which made him a lot more negative and a far less entertaining fighter.. bjs got hit in fights too, and you could argue a good case that akakov actually couldve gotten the win or at least a draw. i remember him getting hit vs ryder too (a very close fight) and in the second half vs eubank

Ya know what i always think of the cunningham fight and a couple before that and think how easy he was to get hit but forget about the changes he made then makes chisora quit and makes wlad sh1t scared to throw a punch, credit wete its due but still think bjs is the number 1 brit at hit and not get hit

Absolute bullsh*t.

I could not get hit too if I was standing in a ring with somebody that wasn't attacking me.

So noone in his last four or five fights has tried to hit him? Who has a better defence at HW?

None are especially great defenders at the moment. Including Fury.

Fury wouldn't last 6 rounds with either Joshua or Wilder.

5 fights ago was Steve Cunningham. Cunningham put him on his ass.

The rest of the guys are basically bums that have never been ranked in the Top 10 so I'm not particularly impressed that he didn't get hurt by them. Neither does anybody else.

Wlad didn't fight him. He stared at him.

Cunningham - fair enough, five fights ago. But Fury's style since that fight has been entirely different and he's barely been touched.

Chisora and Hammer are clearly not bums. Chisora has been top ten (not perhaps for a while). Outside of top ten does not make you a bum. In any event, it's not the fact they couldn't hurt Fury, it's the fact they could barely touch him which is impressive.

As for Klitschko, he was staring at him because he couldn't hit him. It would hardly be the first time a fighter's punch output plummets when he can't land anything.

Aha, cheers for that. I guess it could have been anyone that night and they would have won the title. It just happened to be Tyson standing in the ring. He got lucky, hey.

Yep. Pretty much.

Which is why he avoided the rematch like his life depended on it. If the Wlad that fought A.J. had showed up in the rematch Fury would've been knocked out.
