What I hope they do is.. After the McDonnell-Inoue fight, show at least some highlights.. a 12 Rounder including interviews will take us to 2pm. They'll have another half hour to kill.Autobarn wrote: ↑25 May 2018, 05:10Hope they do as the first was a good fight.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑23 May 2018, 20:55I don't get why. Doesn't seem this is on the wireless is that correct? Could have carried on working if it was whilst listening. Looks like I will just have to drain the battery of my phone on skygo instead

Stuck on the tube. Assume McDonnell is delayed if the other hasn't started yet? Good news for me.

117 to 144 would be unheard of for me. and he looked like a stick, even at 5'10 im not sure i really see him weighing that much

Commentators immediately blaming Jamie being weight drained.
When our guys lose there is an excuse for something being wrong with them rather than it being something superior from the other guy.
When our guys win it is always because they are better

Struggling to think of one of our more proven fighters getting steamrollered like that. Inoue can certainly hit.
But McDonnell, you have to say, was poor.
You can't blame weight when you don't last 2 minutes.

Re: Jamie McDonnell (WBA 'Regular') vs. Naoya Inoue - May 25th 2018
I think he's finished.
No doubt in his prime, McDonnell was a world class fighter. Beating Ceja and Kameda twice is proof of that.
But he should have lost to, let's face it, a very average fighter in Solis and now got destroyed in a round. He's shot, and I think the fact since the Solis fight he only had the rematch with Solis which ended early hid that from everyone.
Re: Jamie McDonnell (WBA 'Regular') vs. Naoya Inoue - May 25th 2018
im guessing we will hear the 'caught cold' line but maybe true, but the japanese fella can certainly whack. i thought the obvious plan early doors against a banger was stick and move, let him get tired for 4 rounds then get to work. but jamie never even looked like exercising those tactics.

My predictions of Jamie raising his game, controlling the fight with his jab and getting a close points decision were slightly off

They're not making excuses - Inoue getting plenty of props (as he should) - but McDonnell looked half-dead and surely weight had something to do with such a disastrous performance.
