Not arsed in the slightest about Yafai.
Paper champion and so is Ancajas. Sor Rungvisai is THE super flyweight world champion of the world. Anyone else claiming to be a world champion at the weight is just a pretender.
After all the big talk from Eddie Hearn that Yafai is the number one in the world, the chance was there to prove it against Naoya Inoue. They instantly turned the fight down.....to fight Inoues left overs on an undercard.
At least Ancajas ( turned Inoue down twice most recently NYE) had the excuse of a very easy payday against Jamie Conlan.
All that being said the guy Ancajas is fighting, Jonas Sultan, beat Casimero recently which means he is no mug.
Casimero should be familiar to us after his beat down on the severely over matched Charlie Edwards. Casimero had some good wins in his resume so Sultan must be decent to beat him.

Re: Kal Yafai vs. David Carmona - 26 May 2018
Im hoping to see Yafai put in a big performance over the pond, I thought he looked poor against Ishida, probably the worst ive seen him, ive always rated his ability but he looked crude and a bit flat, I think he might have had hand troubles and he still won wide in all fairness
Vaguely remember Carmona losing a decision against Cuadras on the Golovkin/Jacobs card but looking through his record its a bit hit and miss, was KO'd in a world title fight against Narvaez and went the distance in another against Inoue which would suggest he was durable but he just recently got KO'd early by a guy who was 13-4
I doubt Yafai loses this but there is a chance he puts in a similar showing as Selby did against Montiel if he's anything like he was against Ishida, if Yafai is anything near his best he could stop Carmona

I like Kal, I want him to do well. I hope he has a good fight. He has been talking a lot recently about different opponents, saying he is the best at superfly etc.
I's rather he talk less and perform more im the ring.

Carmona MASSIVELY misses weight, LOSES Yafai WBA title chance

The title now cannot be won Carmona, as it can only be vacant if he were to win.

And I bet having missed weight Carmona is glad he doesn't have to face the hearty anger of Inoue either

Re: Kal Yafai vs. David Carmona - 26 May 2018
Per California State Athletic Commission contracts, here are the official purses for Saturday night’s Top Rank Boxing card: Jerwin Ancajas $75,000, Jonas Sultan $20,000, Kal Yafai $40,000, David Carmona $10,000.
Because Carmona was way overweight – 118.6 pounds for a 115-pound world title fight – he isn’t eligible to win the title and was also fined 20 percent of his purse ($2,000), making his purse actually $8,000.
Of the fine money, half ($1,000) goes to Yafai, increasing his purse to $41,000. The other half goes to the commission.

Anyone staying up for this?
Re: Kal Yafai vs. David Carmona - 26 May 2018
Heck, who has Carmona been training with?? Miller?
So far overweight, it's like he dosent give a toss.
So the poll should have a 5th option; Quit on his stool. Because the relentless accuracy and power of Kal could do it to a guy banking less than 5 grand after tax and expenses.

10-8
Good first round for Yafai but he started swinging like Haye afterwards. Got himself. He needs to remain calm. Good opener.

Better, more calm round from Kal. Got behind his jab in the end. He needs to move around more.

Kal done well, but he's fighting Carmona'a fight. Needs to move more. Carmona started attacking to the body. Let's see how he gets on with that.

Another 10-8 round, although maybe it shouldn't have been?
Was a low blow.
Kal needs to keep a good range. He'a good at coming in and out. Kal'a getting hurt with what he'a being hit with.

A combo puts Carmona down again. He get's back up straight away. Carmona down again! But it's low blow.
1 point deducted for hitting when he was down. So it's still a knockdown, 9-7 round?

Kal's round. But Carmona did much better. His best round.
Another knockdown? Might get stopped.

Carmona was still in this but he wasn't going to stop Kal. He was sloppy. He was never going to win a decision either.
Most entertaining fight Kal has been in. He'll be remembered by some US fans.
Wasn't the best boxing performance though.

Re: Kal Yafai vs. David Carmona - 26 May 2018
I loved that fight TBH, Yafai can never win, he can dominate over 12 rounds or he can stay in the pocket, trade and leave himself open, he couldn't miss Carmona with the left hook tonight, scored a couple of nice KDs, the ref made a boob in the 5th, giving a KD without counting and a bogus KD at that then took a point of Yafai for hitting Carmona when he was down??
I gave Yafai every round but it was competitive every second, Carmona whipped in some nice body shots, I would've liked to have seen Yafai work the body more but the only time he did was when Carmona worked his body, as I said though the hooks done the trick
Yafai was great to watch tonight, he's not a 1 trick pony and hard to gauge how he'll do against the other champs, he can box and fight so he's a threat

I said it should have been a poll option.
great fight though.
I don't know how Kal will do on a unification. Risky.
