Not heard anything yet mate. Jason Easton won't be on it anyway. He's just been charged with a bad assault to severe injury. Pity as he's usually a fun watch.

What are everyone's thoughts on Postal as a fighter? I have to confess only seeing the Matthyse fight. Is it fair to characterise him as that kind old fashioned EE style, quite upright, tight guard, mostly straight punches from long and mid range? I'm struggling to think of anything else I can remember about him, considering he beat Matthyse I don't remember much.

Can't disagree with your assessment there CP. the Matthysse fight was pretty odd. Postol done well to keep him at range but the finish was a strange one. I think Matthysse was just knackered and thought 'fukk this, games a bogey' rather than the actual punch hurting him.

I think Taylor stops him.

He finished well against Matthysse. Looks tough enough. I think Taylor wins but don't know if he stops him

So far it seems Taylor has shone most at mid and short range. I wonder if Postals plan would be to use movement and keep it long, frustrate and pot shot from the outside.

Mind, we should still stress this is a step up fight for Taylor. Could be Postal walks through him, or out skills him or simply knows too much.

He presents a different set of problems to what Josh has seen so far in the pros that's for sure. I'd like to see Taylor box a bit more because he's an excellent all round boxer. Not that I'm complaining so far because he's been really exciting to watch.

I actually think Postol is taller than Josh slightly so that'll be interesting. Hopefully he can show a bit more patience and maturity and break Postol down gradually. Can't criticise Taylor too much but he does go a bit gung ho and against an experienced head like Postol that could be a mistake.

From what I remember Crawford could really tee off on him when they fought and was just content to keep moving and putting rounds in the bank. I can't see Taylor fighting like that.

There won’t be much undercard wise - money for main event and Hydro itself will use vast majority of the monies.

As highly as I rate Taylor he may well come unstuck against Postol. Big step up for him.

I've seen 3 Postol fights and your assessment is good. He is very tough, carrys power late, and has a good engine. It will take everything Taylor has to get a win. That includes care when on the offensive. Postol is an experienced professional, and if Taylor opens up too much, he is going to get countered. It wasn't a hard night for Crawford, but Taylor isn't Crawford.
Edit: I've seen 4 Postol fights, I forgot Hammering Hank

That would suggest Taylor may be best on the inside against Postal? Again, I haven't seen enough of Postal but two things I think Taylor does very well on the inside are letting short crisp punches go with really good leverage, and also he dips and moves really
well through his hips and shoulders both to be an evasive target and to open angles for shots. Postal doesn't strike me as being that evolved and multifaceted on the inside, again I could be wrong there.

Cant wait fir this one, another step up for Taylor but one I think he wins, his last fight was piss coz Campos couldn't wait to get out of there, I would've much preferred Soto but what can you do?

Ive not seen Postol since he got schooled by Crawford, no disgrace there but he was made to look flat that night, he's had one fight side which he won on points, he was put down though, Postol's record suggests he's not a puncher but I remember the Aydin KO and him making Matthysse quit so he's dangerous for sure even at 34

I'm with Stuarty though, Taylor looks a class act, not the usual plucky Scot, Taylor looks potential P4P material and could become the greatest Scottih boxer of them all, I doubt he'll be revered like Buchanan but skill wise he potentially looks like he has more in his locker than Buchanan who was really just a textbook boxer

I think Taylor wins this one and I suppose I wouldn't be too shocked if he KO'd Postol as I rate Josh that highly, I just think Taylor points is the likely outcome, his speed, southpaw style and skills should trump the more conventional Postol, Taylor cant get carried away though and needs to stay calm and try break Postol down rather than blow him away, Taylor can get a bit gung ho at times and looks like he loves a tear up but simply outboxing Postol should be the tactics on the night, he gets the win and he's guaranteed a world title fight

Go on Josh :bag: :bag: :bag:

Postol looked his usual self apart from a couple of lapses in common sense when he got stunned. He always recovers pretty much immediately and has world class survival skills so it would be some achievement to stop him, even if Taylor does get him hurt. Postol won almost every second of that fight I'm not sure what people talk about when they say he struggled

Fight week! Buzzing like a jar of wasps! All the kids and Mrs are being forced to watch this :yay: I think Taylor slows Postol down with body shots then gets the stoppage in the 7/8th round and makes a massive statement. Can't wait!
