Re: Groves Smith- it's oooon!!
Glad to hear Groves is good to go. A final without him would have been BS.
I think barring his injury hindering him he beats Smith.

It took me six months to train Wes to add the draw option.
How long, mate, how long

I genuinely cannot call this one. Groves has proved he is top level and he will be awkward for Smith with his crouching stance, but Smith is very good technically aswell and probably the bigger man.
50/50 fight but come on ginge.

Get up the road Eubank
Groves by decision for me

Though Groves has got the hairline credentials to be a royal, I'll take Smith here.
I do know I'm looking forward to the fight.

I feel that Smith will raise his game dependant on his opposistion.
Take into account Groves wars and the fact I don’t feel he’s fully fit.
I’m edging Smith points.

I'm saying Groves pops his shoulder mid fight.
Re: Groves Smith- it's oooon!!
It won't be at the O2 on July 14th as The Muppets are on there that weekend so when/where will it be held ?

Re: Groves Smith- it's oooon!!
Groves wins as long as his shoulder holds out
Re: Groves Smith- it's oooon!!
I think that is a possibility. Callum is too smart a fighter to be drawn into a war with George, a war he would be sure to lose. No, if Callum sticks to his jab and can keep George off with it (again, not a certainty) he could squeeze out a points win. There is a much larger height and reach advantage against George than he is used to.PredatorHayds wrote: ↑29 May 2018, 07:12 I feel that Smith will raise his game dependant on his opposistion.

That could negate his (IMO) best weapon- the hard straight jab.
If Smith puts out his career best performance, I feel this fight is a true 50/50.
Groves KO- or Smith decision.
Whatever, it's going to be an epic British battle
Re: Groves Smith- it's oooon!!
Fancy Groves on points but could see Callum stopping him with bodyshots.
Any suggestions as to where it's gonna be held?

Groves is about the same height as Skoglund I think, and Skoglund outjabbed Smith for long periods, smashing his nose in in the process. Smiths got long levers but slow feet so a quicker fighter can beat him to the jab.KiwiRider wrote: ↑29 May 2018, 16:16. I said could negate his jab.
And thats why I'm excited about this fight. So many variables, I don't see a clear victor. Smith could come out like he did with Rocky although that would be very risky
Re: Groves Smith- it's oooon!!
It could be his best option. He can bang and George is susceptible...KiwiRider wrote: ↑29 May 2018, 16:51Counter-puncher wrote: ↑29 May 2018, 16:44Groves is about the same height as Skoglund I think, and Skoglund outjabbed Smith for long periods, smashing his nose in in the process. A close fight on paper but I can see Groves stopping him.
Seen Smith be sloppy at times against lesser (and some sub-standard opposition) and getting caught too easy. That said, it could be him not paying any respect to those opponents or them having lack of power but you don’t want to ship many shots against a crisp, accurate puncher like Groves (he should ask his big brother!!!!).
I’m sure people will be able to provide valid arguments to support Smiths chances.
A fight I’m really looking forward to!

Re: Groves Smith- it's oooon!!
Think Smith is one of those that needs the fear factor. First round KOs in the local derby with Fielding and in his European title fight would suggest that when he's switched on, he's dangerous. That being said, Groves is levels above Fielding and that French kid. Groves is more experienced, more proven and although people were suggesting that he was past his best pre-Eubank, it looks to me as if he's in the form of his life.
Smith can stand quite up right at times which could spell trouble when facing Groves, who has a solid jab and good straight right. Even given his height and reach advantage, Smith might be better off getting close to Groves. Get close, target the body, use his size on the inside and see what condition Groves' surgically repaired left shoulder is in. Fingers crossed that both fighters stay fit, but with the way Kalle was talking about replacing GG if he wasn't ready in time, there's always the chance that he's been rushed back at less than 100% fitness so he doesn't lose his spot. A Haye-Bellew scenario is a possibility.
