I stayed up for that and i may be wrong but wasn't it a midweek fight ?

Was a Thursday.

ITV showed it 'live' in the middle of the night, as they did Tyson's fights around that time. Leonard was at his manipulative best when he made the match at super-middleweight because Duran was a natural middleweight. He didn't need to pull this stroke; he beats Duran every night of the week by moving. Duran knew it too and and he looked bored and he fought bored.

The only Bradley fight I remember staying up for was the first Pac fight. I was at a local snooker lounge and remember the reaction when Bradley won.

A bizarre one for me - but Cotto vs Canelo. Not because of the fight itself but mainly because of the aftermath - I thought it was a RAZOR tight decision and I thought Cotto boxed his brains off for the first portion of the fight - but really the aftermath was "well told you so" and that was it.... No talk of any rematch or anything like that. Just seemed liked all the commentators had Canelo a handy winner and it was a case off "told you Cotto was too small and old" and even Cotto seemed resigned to that (despte Roach saying he thought Cotto won).

Hahahaha. Well I did enjoy his effective mauls of Keith Holmes & William Joppy. And the masterpieces against Trinidad and Tarver. But the Taylor and Wright fights were awful and suggested if Hopkins has a weakness it’s a deficit in terms of offensive skills.

Yes, in hindsight i dont think i would stay up for any of his in the last 10 years outisde of Hatton. Its amazing just how boring he was, amazing talent, but just a terrible bore. As he moved up the weights and as he got older the power punch output got less and less. In hindsight, why were we all so fascinated by him?

It was a select few boxers who made some interesting. Mosley for 2 rounds before it became one-sided. Cotto gave it a real good go. Maidana made the first fight interesting. Apart from that. It was shīt!

Scorecards were too wide. Kinda shows a one-sided fight when it wasn't.

I thought Cotto looked the better boxer, his punches just didn't have the impact of Canelo's. I dislike Canelo for the reason that he wins fights through his ability to take off and put on huge amounts of weight (and that's without even beginning to question the legitimacy of his methods). The pound-for-pound obsession and boiling down is ruining boxing for me.

On Canelo, clearly he's a very skilled boxer as well but his size is such an advantage for him and promoters / governing bodies bend over to favour him. It's rank.

Canelo’s a strong lump, with fast hands if you stand in front of him, who can only fight 2/3 of a fight.

I had his fight with Trout a draw as he squandered any advantage by running for two minutes a round after one minute of good work.

Was stunned to see him take off about 4 rounds in a row versus a Golovkin, mid-late in their frustrating fight. It’d taken about two years to put the fight together then to try and buy time, during the fight...

Cotto-Moslwy I regret staying up for. Cotto landed phenomenal punches for 6 rounds then set a pattern for most of his subsequent big fights, by running out of gas and ideas.

In the second half all it took was for Mosley to hold and push his man back inside, break his rhythm somewhat, to have Cotto looking clueless and desperate in the late stages.

Obviously I’m not a huge fan of Cotto or, say, Canelo Alvarez.
