World Boxing Council Francophone Welterweight Title

For boxers who speak French no less :doh:

Will be contested tomorrow by Karim Aliliche v Meriton Karaxha. Aliliche is from France while Karaxha is from Albania but speaks French.

Is it not meant to be like a French version of the Commonwealth belt, but obviously for former French colonies like Algeria, Mali, Haiti etc?

It’s just another regional belt, plenty of Americans have held the WBO Asia-Pacific and Oriental belts, there are no residency or language requirements...

My point was that these regional belts from the alphabettispaghetti orgs carry no requirements anyone can contest them...

Sorry, not being a clever pudendum but if a boxing commission wants to be making new titles they have to get the wording correct for it, otherwise people will be taking the piss.
