Burns and Crolla are Fast Car’s boys. He looks after them.
I saw something recently about Lomachenko v Crolla
Can’t see any point in that fight apart from another payday for Crolla.
Fair play if he can get it though.
What do you think was his biggest pay day so far? Burns? Or Linares?

Ricky Burns vs Tommy Coyle for the Commonwealth.
There are a few Commonwealth fighters in the WBO rankings as well as the others, so the winner could use the Commonwealth title to climb the world rankings.
Not that anyone cares about that sort of thing nowadays.

Burns would be a decent name for Ritson! Could see Ritson stopping him late tho

It’s a good fight and would be a strong headliner in Newcastle. Hopefully it can happen before the end of the year.

A just think Burns has faded a lot! Haven’t been impressed by many recent fights!

Is this just rumour or is he actually on the bill.
It's a small but fairly strong bill. I'd love to see Burns v Coyle but is Coyle going to fight again? And in 3 weeks

I don't see Burn's being stopped. Maybe on his feet. But he can fight and box.

Lewis has to much for Ricky now

A couple years ago maybe, but not now.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑28 May 2018, 09:51Yup. Burns is very experienced.
It would be those cases were the veteran beats the student.
Ritson's style may not be pretty but it is effective, Burns just doesn't have the legs to out manoeuvre him anymore, nor does he have the power to push him back.
If Burns is going to bow out to a younger man I would rather it be Taylor as it would be huge in Scotland (even if it would be a backward step for Taylor if he beats Postol).
Re: Ricky Burns Will Return on June 16th in Newcastle
How would you see the fight going?
Are you still training ritson?
Re: Ricky Burns Will Return on June 16th in Newcastle
No way. Be horrible to see burns beat up .all that success pride of Scotland to have Josh make you look real old real slow and bashed up

Mugged off, hes a professional boxer. EIther he fights the best up in Scotland, or he waits and waits until someone outside the country beats him easily for a fraction of the payday; up to him!

Re: Ricky Burns Will Return on June 16th in Newcastle
Ricky Burns (41-7-1, 14 KOs) makes his return to the ring when he meets the ever-reliable TBA on June 16 at Newcastle’s Metro Arena in fight number 50 and his manager, Alex Morrison, believes that his fighter still has a title run in him.
Morrison confirmed that Burns will box a 10 rounder when speaking to Mark Pirie of the Airdrie and Coatbridge Advertiser and he hopes that it will be the first step on a new road to glory for the former three-weight world titlist.
Despite two defeats in his last two, decision losses to Anthony Crolla and Julius Indongo respectively, Burns has remained in shape and wants to make a statement on the bill, which is promoted by Eddie Hearn and is co-headlined by Josh Kelly and Lewis Ritson.
