Carlos Palomino KO12 John Stracey, 1976 - I thought Palomino's jab was near perfect.

Larry Holmes KO6 Rodney Bobick, 1975 - Check it out on youtube.

Larry Holmes KO7 Young Sanford Houpe, 1977 - Holmes dominated with the jab.

Mike Spinks KO6 Ramon Ranquello, 1980 - Spinks's jab had the force of a bazooka.

Mike Weaver W12 Scott LeDoux, 1979 - Weaver, normally a puncher, changed gears and dominated this fight with his jab.

Pinklon Thomas W12 Tim Witherspoon, 1984 - If I remember correctly, Thomas controlled the entire fight with his jab.

Mike Rossman KO13 Victor Galindez, 1978 - They called Rossman's jab the "Chinese Water Torture" on this night.

Matthew Saad Muhammad KO11 Yaqui Lopez, 1978 - Saad owned Lopez because of the jab, I thought.

Ken Norton KO5 Jerry Quarry, 1975 - The announcers thought Norton was actually hurting Quarry with that one punch.

This is a really thoughtful and knowledgeable post Ron! I well remember Palomino/Stracey and also agree about Norton
/Quarry. Will have a good look at some of the others you have mentioned.

Off the top of my head...I remember roger mayweather vinny paz, Mayweather jabbed him to death I believe.

Also seem to remember golota landing booming jabs against bowe.

Someone might want to verify these though.

John Conteh vs Yaqui Lopez. This was brittle hands Conteh, who didn't use the right like he did earlier in his career on account of the injuries it sustained. One of the most cultured lefts I've seen. Overall, not just as a jab.

Larry Holmes handled the giant Roy 'Tiger' Williams with the jab--quite the performance. He also put on a jabbing masterclass versus Ossie Ocasio, which included a rare example of a jab knockdown scored against a world-level opponent.

De la Hoya vs Vargas was excellent with the jab

Talking about hurtful jabs, if you watch the last round of Pavlik Taylor 1 you can see Pavlik landing about 6 or 7 clean jabs where he's really busting Taylor's head back with them, you can see them taking effect before the finish, they were really debilitating for Taylor

Similarly i saw Veeraphol- Tatsuyoshi fights last night and V busted him up badly with the jab, really heavily landed concussive jabs.
