Bray Boxing Club shooting...

Post by Stuarty »

Just saw this on the news. Gunman walked in to the gym early this morning and opened fire whilst fighters were in training. Injured three men including a well known trainer. Madness.

Any of our Irish friends know anything about this?

Not directly (that I know of) but he does train a number of the MTK boxers.

Would it be fair to say that having a connection to Daniel Kinehan and/or MTK, however loose that connection may be, means you've got a target on your back? Are kids at MTK Birmingham and MTK Manchester at risk, for example?

I would imagine it’s only in Ireland where the feud is but I’m not an expert.

Yes - as Jamie Moore found out when he was gunned down in a case of mistaken identity

Bloody hell! Thoughts go out the family and friends of the dead guy, and hopefully none of the other injuries prove too serious.

I can only begin to imagine how many times the Sun will use the phrase 'who is not involved in criminality' in their coverage of this one.

News reporting that the guy who was killed was an innocent bystander taking part in a fitness class in the gym.

Article also implies that Taylor had recently cut ties with a known person that he had been friendly with.

Do you think it would be worth the BBBoC looking again at who they license.
Surely some of this sort of violence will continue to spill over onto shows.

True mate. It's already spilled over in to a club and weigh in with scores of innocent bystanders etc... You'd think it would only be a matter of time at this rate.

Macklin fronts MTK though so how easy would it be to prove their links to organised crime etc...? Are the money men involved just in the background or are they hands on? I'm not sure how it all works tbh...
