Re: HW SEASON WEEK 9 MATCHUPS
Ok.....Here is how GBP will be accused of "goofing off" this week.
Wamba will fight Jirov again
Ward will fight Knight again
Schmeling will fight Jess Willard
And Ali.....Just like last week, will face any man in the house except the doofus cyborg, a fighter we will never face until Vonda Ward is satisfied with her pursuit of the little rocket man.
And just like last week we expect to be criticized for somehow not being diligent enough in our attempt to get Ali a fight.
That's probably because there is no fighter named "any man in the house".....and it's confusing to some.
PLEASE READ DISCLAIMER:
When we say "any man in the house" this comes with commish based restrictions, YOU MUST QUALIFY FOR THIS BY MEETING THE RIGID STANDARDS SET BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES......we don't make the rules....we just follow them to the letter and without exception. Please read all the fine print, and submit your application to the commish and then patiently wait for pending approval before assuming you are good enough to challenge a GBP champion.

Re: HW SEASON WEEK 9 MATCHUPS
Evander Holyfield wants Tyson Fury or Tommy Morrison...We've already had some interesting contests with Norton vs Fury, and Norton AND Toney vs Morison so I'd like for Holyfield to get a shot at one of these two to see how it shakes down.
Norton will take on Boone Pultz
James Toney will defend his Cruiserweight Title against any worthy contender who wants a shot.
Cecilia Braekhus wants a shot at Regina Halmich's Women's Title.

Re: HW SEASON WEEK 9 MATCHUPS
I also feel I should state again. Durakovic should be retired except for special challenges or "punishment" type matches because him fighting every week, and being unbeatable will make him #1 in no time and that's a slap in the face to all managers who actually put effort into their stables.
Failure to rectify this situation will ensure I won't return next season or in any future season.
There are big plans for this season. Big enough that I'll stick it out no matter what, but considering how fantastic and steady a force the BrainTrust is, the Commission needs to consider the ramifications of their ruling on this matter.

Re: HW SEASON WEEK 9 MATCHUPS
Jack Johnson wants to fight the invincible fighting machine Durakovic. Everyone's calling for the man's retirement because everyone is scared. If the commish won't allow it, then we call out James Jackson Jeffries.
Tyson Fury will accept Holyfield's challenge.
Jean Marc Mormeck wants to fight Fabrice Tiozzo.
Amanda Serrano challenges Vonda Ward.

Re: HW SEASON WEEK 9 MATCHUPS
It's not scared. It's acknowledging that he's not even a real fighter, he's a false creation that's just meant as a gag...and not a particularly funny one.HomicideHenry wrote: ↑06 Jun 2018, 20:58 Jack Johnson wants to fight the invincible fighting machine Durakovic. Jean Marc Mormeck wants to fight Fabrice Tiozzo.
Amanda Serrano challenges Vonda Ward.
Similar to the way George Foreman at full Heavyweight power has been used against Welterweights or whatever in the past.
Much appreciation for the Fury vs Holyfield signing though. That should be interesting.
Re: HW SEASON WEEK 9 MATCHUPS
I vote we make the fight. If Durakovic wins, we retire him. It will be pointless to have him in the Sim, aside a punishment type guy or if he is called out. He has zero reason to be able to dominate Johnson, where if he does, it's just unrealistic and pointless.HomicideHenry wrote: ↑06 Jun 2018, 20:58 Jack Johnson wants to fight the invincible fighting machine Durakovic. Does this work and sound feasible to everyone?
Re: HW SEASON WEEK 9 MATCHUPS
Well...since I JUST beat Mormeck, and Jirov and Wamba are apparently tied up for the remainder of the season against each other in an unprecedented move
I guess that leaves Toney with Marco Huck or David Haye as the next most viable options as challengers to his Cruiserweight crown.

By the way. Just throwing it out there as an option. Norton would also be willing to take on Darrell Madison this week, but if not he'll go forward with his matchup with Boone Pultz.armageto wrote: ↑06 Jun 2018, 21:06I vote we make the fight. Next week he'll be looking for more interesting matchups against managed competitors. It's been a bit of a rough go for him so far, but I think we can redeem him yet. Just need to get the right matchups for him.
Re: HW SEASON WEEK 9 MATCHUPS
I know he had a hit list of guys he never fought or did and wanted to see how the SIM version went. I will definitely pass it by him and see what his plan is though.gilgamesh wrote: ↑06 Jun 2018, 21:12By the way. Just throwing it out there as an option. Remind him that Norton is currently 5-3 and is coming off a lossarmageto wrote: ↑06 Jun 2018, 21:20I know he had a hit list of guys he never fought or did and wanted to see how the SIM version went. A hellacious fight, but a loss nonetheless. We gotta have a rematch of that at some point, but I'll wait about it for now.
It's cool that you actually stay in touch with Darrell and run his Sim bouts by him to see what he thinks of it.
Re: HW SEASON WEEK 9 MATCHUPS
We don't talk like we used to with me moving out of state, but I still keep in touch. We've been friends since school, so really no reason not to. On the weeks he doesn't have any input, I can make my best matchup, IMO, so he'll usually have a feasible fight for him every week.gilgamesh wrote: ↑06 Jun 2018, 21:22Remind him that Norton is currently 5-3 and is coming off a lossarmageto wrote: ↑06 Jun 2018, 21:20I know he had a hit list of guys he never fought or did and wanted to see how the SIM version went. Re: HW SEASON WEEK 9 MATCHUPS
Well I'd certainly be pleased with the success you've had with him if I were him. You've done well by him so far, and he's performed exceptionally well considering he's basically an unknown to most Boxing fans
Re: HW SEASON WEEK 9 MATCHUPS
Makes me think what could have been if King didn't screw him.......
Re: HW SEASON WEEK 9 MATCHUPS
Gil, Madison said he has a few more names on his ledger, then will be up for bigger challengers. Figure around week 11/12.
Not sure what I do when editing the fights for the week, but the manager names seem to always go from black to orange at some point. if it's no major issue for anyone, I'll leave it as is, instead of manually changing them all.

Riddick Bowe will take the fight, and with it, the WBO title that was stolen from his grasp by ukranian corruption! Big Daddy is coming to get some justice

Re: HW SEASON WEEK 9 MATCHUPS
Morrison still has an idea of fighting Jersey Joe Walcott. So, Crease, is it on? Pinklon Thomas is booked as a possible substitute for the case of declining.
Huck takes his opportunity of the Cruiserweight title shot. James Toney, let's make it.
Tunney challenges Rocky Marciano for the WBC championship or Larry Holmes for the IBF championship. If those fights appear not to be made, Gene will be ready to defend his MGM belt against anybody.
Ragosina is open to challenges.

Re: HW SEASON WEEK 9 MATCHUPS
Vonda Ward is willing to tangle with Durokavic every week he can't find a date........
Over and over and over again. So to say that Doofus does not have any options is to sell Vonda short......and Vonda is anything but short.
And IF this current trilogy between Wamba and Jirov can produce some sort of clarity that both camps can be satisfied with, I'm good for opening the door and allowing them some time off to smash some other Cruisers on occasion.
It's just that They are the only two Cruisers that really matter.......

James Toney is unbeaten and has the Cruiserweight Title. He's more important than Wambum will ever think about being.BoxBuzz wrote: ↑07 Jun 2018, 13:13 Vonda Ward is willing to tangle with Durokavic every week he can't find a date........

Re: HW SEASON WEEK 9 MATCHUPS
James Toney should step up to his smashpoint. Any GBP fighter would send him into Bolivian. Ali, Schmeling and Wamba would all clean his clock.
James Toney has been dancing with snowflakes. And is about to drop to double digit ratings next week.
This week is likely to be "Lights Out" Toney.
