This American goose is making out that Dib would be disqualified in any American "mecca" of boxing. Keep up, thief.

@Brute did yo even bother reading my next post? Because it seems like you are stuck on that one sentence, which by the way is not so far out of the realm of possibility. Anyway, if you would have read it I went on to say Dib did great body work, and that I didn't feel all the fouling in the first had much of anything to do with Escobedo quitting on his stool.

OK. A lot of locals have been going on about "fouls." when I fought in the 70s it was known among boxers that a referee would let you get away with two kidney punches per round. Empire Middleweight and Light Heavyweight champion Tony Mundine (Anthony's father) gave a few fighters a mighty punch to the nuts.
The opponent got a break to recover from it, but it always had them carrying their guard low, leading the jaw open for the KO punch. Australian light heavyweight champion Greg McNamara was notorious for thumbing opponents in the eyes.

There has always been leeway in pro boxing. If Dib has bent the rules he has done nothing new.

As Bernie Hourigan, who was thumbed in the eye by McNamara more than any other fighter, would have said "He's a real pro."

@Brute why are you still carrying on about the fouling business? I said I didn't believe the fouls lead to Escobedo quitting. I even said beside the first round Billy fought a very good fight, his body attack was excellent. And with exception on 2 or 3 right hands Dib walked right into, he was never in any real trouble, and dominate throughout. Yet you wont stop carrying on defending him about the foul ridden first round, you're being very defensive, and it's not necessary. I'm trying to discuss the fight with you, can we do that without you being defensive about rule infractions the entire time?

ATTN: rorschach....

Me thinks you're wasting your time. Not all Australian fight fans are like that but I fear that may end up as your general perception of us. There are some of us that are prepared to to unbiased and tell it like it is where our fighters are concerned

Billy Dib and Tevin Farmer to fight vacant junior lightweight interim belt.

http://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/id/2 ... terim-belt

Both camps have been formally notified they should begin negotiating immediately. If they do not strike a deal by May 3, a purse bid will be ordered.

Don't really know how Dib wound up getting that matchup, but I don't like his chances vs Farmer.

Ogawa testing positive to synthetic testosterone is part A to the answer.

Dib and Farmer being the 2 highest ranked, available contenders is part B.

Yeah I get that, but how is Dib ranked as a Top 2 contender? How is he even Top 20?

This Billy Dib - Tevin Farmer fight appears now to be for vacant IBF junior lightweight title.

Mention of it being only for the interim belt seem to have disappeared.

The Dibster, although game was clearly out-pointed by Tevin Farmer.

Billy did a lot of clinching, to limit the frequent flurries that Farmer threw. Hopefully the Dibster will now hang them up.

Brock Jarvis was way too good and fast for his opponent, but hardly had any valuable ring time.

As for the Tim Tszyu bout, opponent Ferdinandus only lasted just over a minute, and took a dive worthy of those recently seen in the Soccer World Cup from a phantom punch.

Haven't seen the fight yet. But the shut-out score cards and write-ups suggest Billy wasn't even in the hunt. I read he got dropped in the 9th too.

I know Billy said he feels revitalized and all before the fight. But I think his time has come.

Billy announced his retirement straight after the fight and can be very proud of what he achieved over about 15 years.
