Dillian Whyte vs Joseph Parker - 28th July, O2 Arena, London
Officially anounced this morning, who've you got?

Re: Dillian Whyte vs Joseph Parker - 28th July, O2 Arena, London
If the fight took place prior to Joshua-Parker, I'd have picked Parker to take a close, maybe a bit controversial decision, in his trademark fashion. Now I'm more confident with Parker outboxing Whyte. I guess, Joe will win pretty clear, he seems to have more of a class.
Re: Dillian Whyte vs Joseph Parker - 28th July, O2 Arena, London
I don't mind Whyte but I really want Parker to take this. Sky and Hearn sticking this on box office is a fuckin pisstake!
Re: Dillian Whyte vs Joseph Parker - 28th July, O2 Arena, London
Excellent match-up, Both guys deserve credit for taking on such a tough challenge. It should be very competitive but I've gone for parker by decision.
Re: Dillian Whyte vs Joseph Parker - 28th July, O2 Arena, London
I like this fight and credit to both boxers for taking it, although for Parker it’s all upside as he gets an immediate chance to jump back up the rankings.
I see Whyte by decision on this...

Parker to win.
Is this a tougher fight than Pulev or Ortiz? Maybe. If Whyte loses, he moves down the ranks and losing any final eliminator challenge.
Still a good fight this. And I knew Hearn would have it Box Office.

just yesterday Parker was officially announted to fight Jennings in august, Whyte had to face Pulev
good match up, but i think Parker wins easily on points. would be nice to see the IBF eliminator though, Pulev vs Ortiz/Miller/Jennings

I don't think this is Hearns doing. I think Sky set Matchroom targets to have maybe at least 3-4 PPV fights a yearStuarty wrote: ↑07 Jun 2018, 06:07Hope it does flop mate! It's getting beyond a fuckin joke now this crap!

Sky Sports Box Office covered five PPV’s during 2016 & 2017. They’re on course to achieve the same feat during 2018.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑07 Jun 2018, 06:21I don't think this is Hearns doing. I think Sky set Matchroom targets to have maybe at least 3-4 PPV fights a year
They’ve already televised two PPV’s, which were Joshua-Parker and also Bellew-Haye II. And with Joshua-Povetkin and Whyte-Parker seemingly imminent, it’s likely that Sky will cover at least one other PPV before the end of the 2018 calendar year.
Who knows? Perhaps Joshua-Wilder or Brook-Khan?

They're as bad as each other. Hope it bombs! Pity because it's a decent fight and I like both guys...Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑07 Jun 2018, 06:21I don't think this is Hearns doing. I think Sky set Matchroom targets to have maybe at least 3-4 PPV fights a year

It’s naïve to think that Sky Sports has some sort of moral obligation to minimise the costs of televising boxing events for their viewers, by adopting the business practices of some sort of non-profit organisation.Stuarty wrote: ↑07 Jun 2018, 06:38They're as bad as each other. The sport of boxing is very popular in the UK and Sky has invested heavily in it since 2015 and already covers a lot of domestic and international events via their normal subscription services, without any extra charge to their customers.
It’s a shame that the sport of boxing in the US wasn’t as lucrative for the TV networks as it is in the UK, because fight fans would benefit enormously, as we’d inevitably get the opportunity to see far more marquee bouts than what’s currently on offer.

It's not a PPV worthy fight though.. I hope it bombs.. It's just greed at the end of the day.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑07 Jun 2018, 06:49It’s naïve to think that Sky Sports has some sort of moral obligation to minimise the costs of televising boxing events for their viewers, by adopting the business practices of some sort of non-profit organisation.Stuarty wrote: ↑07 Jun 2018, 06:38They're as bad as each other. 100% PPV in my opinion. We've seen worse fights make it to PPV, and I think it'll do decent numbers. These are two top 5 heavies, and it's a really good match up. If it's supported by a good card, it'll be an excellent night of boxing.
Re: Dillian Whyte vs Joseph Parker - 28th July, O2 Arena, London
It's an eliminator between two non box office fighters with nothing special in the skill department. I like them both but neither are box office and yeah it's a good match up but people pay through the nose for Sky as it is and fights like this are being humped on to box office. It's a shambles if you ask me!Rob3_142 wrote: ↑07 Jun 2018, 06:54100% PPV in my opinion. We've seen worse fights make it to PPV, and I think it'll do decent numbers. A good undercard might persuade more hardcore fans to buy. I can't imagine this fight capturing the imagination of the casuals tbh.

Have we finished having a winge about the PPV yet?
The poll says most people don't rate Whyte against Parker.
I tend to agree.
Parker fought a much more impoved AJ and while he didn't do much, he survived. And I don't think Whyte could beat 2016 Takem or Huggie either. Parker is going to outwork him and subsequently out point him.
Full credit for Whyte for taking this fight. Big risk.
Can some you UK fans let us know what the English bookies are giving on this one please?

I absolutely agree that this isn't PPV worthy, but I reckon the card will be stacked.Stuarty wrote: ↑07 Jun 2018, 06:07Hope it does flop mate! It's getting beyond a fuckin joke now this crap!

Whyte to Win 10/11 - Decision 9/4 - KO/TKO 10/3
Parker to Win 5/6 - Decision 6/4 - KO/TKO 11/2
Re: Dillian Whyte vs Joseph Parker - 28th July, O2 Arena, London
English bookies got it 10/11 both fighters 25/1 draw (skybet)
Would have preferred Whyte v Ortiz. Parker wins on points.

Only other Heavyweights Matchroom have are Chisora and Bellew (i think). Looks like Chisora then. Hoping for Chisora v Takam, which was discussed originally for the Haye v Bellew card but Haye threw a hissy fit about Joyce not being involved.

The WBC should scrap their "secondary eliminator" because it was a bit of a joke to begin with. They have a full year to call another eliminator. Ortiz will just need to stay busy until then.AJKlitschfury wrote: ↑07 Jun 2018, 07:37 Awesome fight, but I still wonder what will happen with Pulev and Ortiz now.
I have a thread discussing the IBF (viewtopic.php?f=22&t=221797), looks like it should be Miller, but it all looks a bit of a mess.
