Higgins is a craft bastard too. Yesterday he denied rumours that Parker and Jennings had agreed terms and threw Ustinov's name back in there lol.. little did we know, they were negotiating with Hearn to make this.
Re: Dillian Whyte vs. Joseph Parker - 28 July 2018
Is it an eliminator? Or will it be given that status?
Re: Dillian Whyte vs. Luis Ortiz - 28 July 2018
It will be 25 squids for me to watch it Tony.
My money hinges on who Brook is fighting, I can't warrant the dosh on Parker Whyte alone- though I really would like to see that.

Box office fornicating joke
Re: Dillian Whyte vs. Joseph Parker - 28 July 2018
Good fight to see how far Whyte has come.
I don't see Whyte KOing parker, but I think it will be fun to watch. But it isn't PPV unless the undercard is a monster.

Re: Dillian Whyte vs. Joseph Parker - 28 July 2018
Only reason I can understand the Parker fight is the split will be better for whyte/hearn and Parker is already known in the uk
Re: Dillian Whyte vs. Joseph Parker - 28 July 2018
Parker will win on points quite easy, Whyte isnt that good.
Re: Dillian Whyte vs. Joseph Parker - 28 July 2018
I know the fight changed and it was about Whyte already but can't we have a new thread and poll rather than one with skewed results of some people voting on the fight vs Ortiz?
Re: Dillian Whyte vs. Joseph Parker - 28 July 2018
Surely this will sell badly?

Id love it to be free but i feel its worth the PPV. I think parker beats is the number 3 heavyweight behind joshua and wilder. id have dillian right behind that. povetkin, miller, bellew and ortiz are all above them on boxing rec rankings but I think both dillian and parker beat those guys and give wilder a run for his money. so having the third best heavyweight vs the 4th best is pretty good in my eyes and both have good styles and growing resumes.
Re: Dillian Whyte vs. Joseph Parker - 28 July 2018
I'm going to start a campaign, would not happen on his watch......right?
Re: Dillian Whyte vs. Luis Ortiz - 28 July 2018
Perform worse? You reckon. Parker has fought Hughie Fury (ok on a crap platform) and Joshua in a massive event in the UK so presumably is well known, also took Joshua the distance. Or Ortiz who had a really good fight against Wilder (middle of the night here so presume not massive viewing figures) or that absolute snooze fest he had in Monaco. From a selling PPV's I'd have thought there is no competition Whyte v Parker does more sales but maybe I'm missing something.boxrecer777 wrote: ↑07 Jun 2018, 05:07 So of the 3 (Parker/Pulev/Ortiz) he picks the hardest and the only one that's not a final eliminator.
It will also perform worse on PPV than Ortiz would have. I can't understand this.
Not happy its PPV but whats new we were 'due' one I suppose. Hope there is a decent undercard Brook presumably in a mid-leval fight. Presumably hot on the heels of yesterday we will get Okoli, Cheeseman and maybe the Belloti rematch or I guess that might be too soon?

I think this is a lovely contest and I’m really looking forward to it.
Expecting Parker to win on points.
I was fully expecting Whyte to reject the away day and continue dancing around the WBC but I felt pretty sure Parker’s rebuild would begin with a pension fight for Lucas Browne.
No issue with this being PPV, I’m happy buying it.

Whyte becomes the first to stop Parker.
Re: Dillian Whyte vs. Luis Ortiz - 28 July 2018
Um
I agree - it WILL be interesting to see what Ortiz has left, but..
This is Whyte vs Parker ?
You're the second person talking about Ortiz on this thread - have you guys heard anything about the undercard ? or just a mistook ?

Re: Dillian Whyte vs. Joseph Parker - 28 July 2018
Soon after Whyte v Parker was made official, Sky Sports sent out confirmation the bout would be televised on Sky Sports Box Office and Twitter went into meltdown.
A mass of fans expressed their disappointment of the idea of Whyte and Parker fighting without even eliminator status - let alone a world title on the line, on the paid platform of choice for Matchroom Boxing.
It's a bold move by promoter Eddie Hearn, who will now need to send in the cavalry in order to keep a large portion of his fanbase happy.
The likes of Kell Brook, Anthony Crolla, Callum Johnson, Ricky Burns and a rematch between Luke Campbell and Yvan Mendy could all be considered for the bill, whilst all the young Olympic prospects signed by Hearn over the past twelve to eighteen months may well be drafted in.
Whyte v Parker on PPV would have been unthinkable just twelve months ago, and it seems association with Anthony Joshua has led the fighters to this point.

Re: Dillian Whyte vs. Joseph Parker - 28 July 2018
Whyte recently spoke to IFL TV regarding the upcoming bout and expressed some anger and frustration towards the interviewer (Kugan Cassius) who expressed a surprised demeanour when learning that the fight will be shown on pay-per-view.
“Why are you surprised though? Parker vs Joshua was pay-per-view so why not this fight,” said Whyte.
“It has nothing to do with titles, if Parker fought Fury then you would assume it was pay-per-view, because you are biased towards Tyson…you favour Tyson.”
“You seem to always be trying to run me down, you should be supporting me, supporting the fight.”
“Listen, it’s very important what is said here because a lot of people listen to you and buy into what you say, so you should be supporting me."
“I’ve had the pay-per-view fights, I’ve had the big fights, I made the Joshua fight pay-per-view sand this fight is certainly pay-per-view.”
David Higgins (Joseph Parker’s promoter) then chimed in with his thoughts and provided a much clearer explanation behind the decision to put the fight on pay-per-view: “My view is that pay-per-view fights should be 50/50, in the way the public see it, and this I believe is a 50/50 fight,” said Higgins.
“This fight is two guys with contrasting styles in the ring, Dillian shook AJ up and Parker took him the distance. So for us, we see this as an eliminator in our minds and we think the winner will be in pole position for another crack at Anthony Joshua….with a different referee.”
“It has the three magic ingredients: stars - both fighters are household names now, international warfare - New Zealand vs England and competition – the fans see it as 50/50.”
Eddie Hearn also voiced his support of the fight being pay-per-view: “This is the highest profile fight outside of Joshua vs Wilder, it’s a massive fight,"
