Are you glad he's back?

Post by Counter-puncher »

So tonight is the night, the return of the big man

(insert cliche here along the lines of 'love him or loathe him you can't deny the Gypsy King brings attention and entertainment...' or something like that)

now the forum can decide, is boxing a better place for the return of Tyson Fury?

Yes , more glad about him being "well" again though .

Hope he can justify all the hype of the comeback and feature in some big fights .

Still think both Wilder and Joshua ice him and I think he's more entertaining out of the ring than in .

Not seen him in an " entertaining " fight yet , the second Chisora fight was as good as I've seen him , but bored me sh!tless.

Yes. He's a legitimate top class heavyweight albeit overrated by some, and makes for intriguing fights with Joshua and Wilder.

In the shorter term though I have no interest in tonight and suspect his comeback will be fairly farcical.

Couldn't care really, featured in one of the most boring title fights in history which turned into boxing masterclass somehow,i'd watch him fight Joshua and Wilder just to see how long it takes them to flatten him.

Aye defo glad to see him back, I accept he was never gonna be in with a world beater after nearly 3 years out but I wouldve liked to have seen him in with a genuine Heavyweight, he's such a massive HW that this looks a bit comical

I want him in tip top shape and fight Anthony Jushua. I will watch tonight's fight if it's on before 10pm. I've never been a great fan of Fury as I think he's over hyped, especially with his win over Klitch.

What I want to see ultimately is the big fight against AJ which will answer the questions on how good both boxers are. Saying that if AJ wins in big fashion Fury fans will just say he was never the same boxer or he hadn't trained correctly.

Going on the question am I glad he's back? Well yes because it's pointless him shouting people out all the time, I just want to see a top rated boxer knock him out, hopefully that will be AJ who incidentally has gained an OBE for his services in boxing.

I may sound an AJ fan boy but actually I'm not. I like AJ and I like how he conducts himself in the sport. AJ is very fortunate he's boxing in this era and has reaped the benefits of this fact.

I’m over the moon he’s back. Brings entertainment and in a few fights time we will see if he was overrated by many on underrated by few. I got a soft spot for the big man when I met him at the copper box he came across as a genuinely nice man. I’ve always thought he’s the best in the division I hope now he can prove it

I'm glad he's back. Been a fan since the off

Have no problems with the opponent (this time).

Hope to see him in the ring 2 or 3 more times this year then a summer bout against Joshua, Wilder or whoever's number one this time next year.

Wasnt a fan at the start of his career then loved his interviews then picked him to beat klit then he went off track and i thought he would never be back,iv slated him in the past but overall im looking forward to seeing him attempt to climb the mountain again,i think he is the best boxing heavyweight at the moment, been watching some pad work of his and even before he has had this fight i cant see joshua or wilder beating him,he would have them chasing shadows for 12 rounds.

I don’t know. Perhaps if he puts on a disciplined masterclass that shows the comeback is serious. Or engages in a wild fight of the year type of brawl. We’ll see, if I care or not.

Right now, I’m hearing a lot of foolish talk from him printed in the media about landing 6 left hooks in a row, or touching his foot before landing a punch. Let’s see if it’s all a gimmick leading to disaster, if it’s all a bit of hype to justify a few cynical paydays. Or a genuine return.

With the troubles he’s had, it feels like he’s the British “Buster” Douglas.

As it stands the top two HWs look leagues above everyone else. Anything can happen in boxing , but few would genuinely bet their life on anyone beating either AJ or Wilder, let alone beating them both to become undisputed HW champion.

At least Fury, love him or hate him, brings a third name into the mix when it comes to becoming the #1 HW on the planet.

If you asked every genuine knowledgeable boxing fan on the planet who AJ should fight next every single one would say Wilder (and vice versa) . At least Fury brings another dimension

Fury comes back after 1000 days out against a total mug, a joke of a fight, looks fat as fook still, fight itself it a bit of a farce and its all - "He had a 1000 days out of the ring and needs a soft touch.....he was just shedding weight and proving a point....tonight is about getting back in the ring....give him time.....let him have 3 easy ones first...."

David Haye has 1300 days out and fight a total mug and its - "Haye is such a pudendum....why bother with this shite....proved nothing...he is just after money...."

Hmmm, people make me laugh. If you have a viewpoint and want to be respected, keep the same values of judging and evaluating no matter who the subject matter is

I'll reserve judgement until he starts to take the sport seriously.

I get the feeling his heart is not truly in it.

He can prove me wrong by coming in weighing less than an Apatosaurus next time out & picking a slightly more worthwhile opponent that is actually from his own weight class too.

 Spot on.

There are so many double standards that seemingly depend on whether certain folk like a fight or not.

I wasn't keen on his comments on his weight it didn't sound like he wants to get as light as he did for the Wlad fight again, I thought he was at his best because he was relatively light

I’m glad he’s back, but he’s absolutely miles away from Joshua and Wilder, and I don’t think he’ll ever get close to them again.

Yes.

He fucked up last night. Should have buried that guy early.

He has looked mustard in the gym sparring decent lads. He does rise or fall to the level of his opponent unless he feels the threat.

I'm glad, he's back, but I'm not very glad with his shape, though what could have been expected after cutting those tons of fat? Well, he can probably regain his best shape in 2 or 3 bouts.

I think you've totally misunderstood my position on this. I'm glad he's back - even if all he's doing is being a fat bastard in deeply embarrassing fights.
