Carl Frampton vs. Luke Jackson - 18 August 2018
After the win at Elland Road, Warrington and his promoter allegedly poured water on the potential of fighting Frampton on that night, leaving ‘The Jackal’ in limbo about the availability of a credible opponent.
“I wanted one of the big names, a household name or a world champion – but no-one seems to be available,” Frampton said recently. “Leo Santa Cruz and Abner Mares are ruled out because they boxed on Saturday.
“Gary Russell Jr. is ruled out because he fights once a year and he hurt his hand in his last outing.
“Lee Selby got beaten and Oscar Valdez is injured. Josh Warrington – who beat Selby for the IBF belt – does not want to fight and that is understandable because he wants to have some time off and relax.
“But it doesn’t really matter. They will come and these World title fights will come.”
The hope had been that he would be in a big fight to draw the crowds to the 18,434-capacity venue.
“I would love it to be a world title fight but, if it isn’t, it doesn’t matter. I’m just happy to fight at Windsor and put on a good show."
Boxing Scene understands that Luke Jackson, the undefeated Australian, is in the running to be named as the opponent of Frampton in two months’ time.
The 33-year-old, nicknamed ‘Action’, has a ledger of 16-0 with seven early.
He was last in action as recently as April and is the current WBO Oriental featherweight champion.

The boxrec #44 mmmmmm I am sure that will go down well.
Surely it would have been better getting an opponent before announcing a date at a stadium?

Scott Quigg and Kid Galahad are better opponents
Re: Carl Frampton vs. Luke Jackson in Play For August 18
Exactly! Why can't they make that happen!

Frampton's a smart fella, I never quite understood why he plumped for Warren over Hearn, same with Fury, without sounding like an Eddie Hearn fanboy(which I admit I am a bit of one) Eddie's the man for getting maximum exposure and paydays, Warren's dinosaur who occasionally ups his game coz Hearn has left him for dust in the art of promoting
Re: Carl Frampton vs. Luke Jackson in Play For August 18
Frampton doesn't like Hearn. It's personal I think. Frampton is a working class lad and he calls a spade a spade so I don't think he could suffer Hearns bullshit!handsofstone wrote: ↑11 Jun 2018, 03:58 Frampton's a smart fella, I never quite understood why he plumped for Warren over Hearn, same with Fury, without sounding like an Eddie Hearn fanboy(which I admit I am a bit of one) Eddie's the man for getting maximum exposure and paydays, Warren's dinosaur who occasionally ups his game coz Hearn has left him for dust in the art of promoting

Awful fight..,
I’d like quigg two as I believe quigg would be more aggressive and lead to a very good fight...
Tyson versus another journeyman will not be a good watch either

It's like a lot of things in life,Wazza will prefer paper and pens, the old fashioned way,Hearn is the digital era and that's the difference nowadays.handsofstone wrote: ↑11 Jun 2018, 03:58 Frampton's a smart fella, I never quite understood why he plumped for Warren over Hearn, same with Fury, without sounding like an Eddie Hearn fanboy(which I admit I am a bit of one) Eddie's the man for getting maximum exposure and paydays, Warren's dinosaur who occasionally ups his game coz Hearn has left him for dust in the art of promoting

The Quigg fight is an acceptable contest and it could be made as well! I'm a massive Frampton fan and have been from the day he turned pro but it looks as if Wareen is protecting him and trying to milk him until he loses! Carl is only 31 but at that weight he needs to strike while the iron is hot and have good fights against good name now!
The Windsor park show is a money making excersise for Frank! A show like that needs a decent opponent!
Re: Carl Frampton vs. Luke Jackson in Play For August 18
Fwank pays more I believe despite what it may seem. Except for ppv fighters. Although Matchroom will give more exposure doesn't mean the fighter will get more money. Plus Frampton an Fury don't like him so good for them it's good to see some people still have morals
Re: Carl Frampton vs. Luke Jackson in Play For August 18
This is going to fill a stadium?
Abysmal.
Abysmal.
Re: Carl Frampton vs. Luke Jackson in Play For August 18

Wazza strikes again,he's having everyone for mugs as usual.
Re: Carl Frampton vs. Luke Jackson in Play For August 18
Is there any evidence for this? In the last decade or so the traffic, whilst not all one way, has undeniably seen fighters shift towards Hearn rather than FW. Add to that the court cases and liquidations, it doesn't seem to present the latter as the well paying guy everyone wants to be with.Wa1nuts wrote: ↑11 Jun 2018, 05:51 Fwank pays more I believe despite what it may seem. If what you say is true why did Bellew, Khan, Smith, Brook, Burns, Cleverly, Mitchell and so on jump ship?

This is a joke, Windosr Park vs Luke Jackson......... Chief support Tyson Fury doing a bit of stand up comedy
Cant bloody wait.
FW knows how to turn people off, its ok him saying they have the biggest platform etc. but if your serving up shite then who cares??
BN has been abysmal this year for there standards and what happened to all the talk of 40 fight nights per year? with 20+ UK shows? He's got bloody no chance

Aye mate I know Frampton's made no secret for what he thinks of Hearn ay , I think Frampton was considering Eddie's offer though from what I read, as I said Frampton's a smart cookie and after whats gone on with the McGuigan's I'm sure he knows what he's doingStuarty wrote: ↑11 Jun 2018, 04:00Frampton doesn't like Hearn. Who's this guy?
Oh I see, another with a good looking record but will be in out of his depth. Old Frank will never change will he.

Re: Carl Frampton vs. Luke Jackson in Play For August 18
I do believe that the general plan with Fury being on BT was, have a successful return, then try to get the rest of his comeback on the BT Sport PPV platform. I am pretty sure all concerned want the PPV model to kick in, and work and I am equally sure that once Fury has knocked over a few opponents and steps up to world title level, fights could only be made if they were on BT PPV.
With that in mind, jesus Fwank you really blew it with that opponent on saturday....

This is just a horror show and is boxing fans know this. Step up Queensbury please. BT venture so far has been awful. Surely for the entrance they can do better than fighters standing on s stupid box as well. Up the game or retire
Re: Carl Frampton vs. Luke Jackson in Play For August 18
Last year was excellent
